Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Takashi Katsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Trent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trent has chosen Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Takashi Katsumoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Trent! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trent takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Katsumoto throws a leg kick that misses. Katsumoto swings away with a leg kick that misses. Trent is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Katsumoto looks to throw a body kick and Trent counters with a stiff right hand. Katsumoto misses with a left hand and Trent counters with a straight right hand. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Katsumoto - that will leave a mark!
Trent blocks a head kick by Katsumoto.
A bone on bone clash there as Trent blocks the leg kick.
Trent takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Trent on the wrong end of a nice hook. Katsumoto misses with a leg kick letting Trent counter with a right hand. Katsumoto throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Trent stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A nice leg kick lands there from Katsumoto. Katsumoto scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Katsumoto throws a body punch but Trent moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trent stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Katsumoto. A good leg kick by Katsumoto. Katsumoto throws a half hearted mid kick. Katsumoto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Katsumoto goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Katsumoto feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Trent's calf. Trent just misses with a punch to the body.
Trent steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Katsumoto. That one must have hurt. Katsumoto throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Katsumoto throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Trent makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Trent throws a shot from downtown. Katsumoto moves away and avoids it. Katsumoto displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Trent. Katsumoto throws a head kick but Trent moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trent avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Katsumoto keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Trent gets the takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Trent fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Katsumoto is trying to improve his position. Trent throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Trent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Katsumoto keeps working. Katsumoto manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Katsumoto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trent on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trent thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Katsumoto's head. Katsumoto keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Katsumoto is trying to get back to full guard. Trent seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Katsumoto does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Trent passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Trent wants to control the pace but Katsumoto is squirming around nicely. Katsumoto is wriggling around trying to escape.
Katsumoto is working hard here to advance position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Trent goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Katsumoto turns into him and now he's in Trent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takashi Katsumoto dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Katsumoto misses with the body kick and Trent counters with a stiff right hand. Katsumoto misses the body punch and Trent counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trent thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Katsumoto is looking to improve his position.
Katsumoto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Trent trying to mount his opponent but Katsumoto defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Katsumoto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Trent is trying to control the action in half guard but Katsumoto is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Katsumoto won't allow Trent to pass to mount. Trent seems to be working for a kimura but Katsumoto defends the submission attempt. Trent uses his free foot to push down on Katsumoto's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Katsumoto. Trent looking to ground and pound but Katsumoto is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Katsumoto tries to hold on but Trent postures up. Trent unloads with some shots from mount but Katsumoto bucks and avoids them well.
Katsumoto wants to control but Trent is having none of it. Trent looking to ground and pound but Katsumoto is blocking nicely. Katsumoto gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Katsumoto looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Trent tries to pass to full mount but Katsumoto defends it. Trent uses his free foot to push down on Katsumoto's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Katsumoto. That's four minutes gone in the round. Trent throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Trent looking to finish with strikes here!

Andrew Trent showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Katsumoto cracks the inside of Trent's front leg. Trent takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Katsumoto throws a leg kick that is checked and Trent counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Trent forces his way into half guard. Katsumoto is refusing to be controlled, as Trent sits in half guard. Trent wants to pass to mount but Katsumoto is defending the position. Katsumoto is doing well to control the position and prevent Trent from advancing to side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trent trying to control the action but Katsumoto is working from the bottom. Katsumoto tries to roll over but Trent keeps him under control. Trent throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Katsumoto won't allow Trent to pass to mount. Trent throwing shots but Katsumoto is blocking nicely. Trent trying to control from half guard but Katsumoto is working away. Katsumoto blocking the ground and pound attempt from Trent.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Katsumoto tries to score with a low kick but Trent moves his leg out of the way. Katsumoto is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Trent. Katsumoto connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Trent's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Trent has a takedown stuffed.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Katsumoto defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Trent. Katsumoto misses with an uppercut
and Trent counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Trent is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Katsumoto works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Takashi Katsumoto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Katsumoto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Trent chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Katsumoto can pounce on him.
Trent shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Katsumoto sprawls well. Katsumoto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Trent gets slowly back to his feet. Takashi Katsumoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Trent. A nice inside leg kick there by Katsumoto. That's going to slow Trent down. Trent drives through with a takedown into guard. Trent trying to control the position from guard on top but Katsumoto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Katsumoto trying to keep a closed guard but Trent is proving a slippery customer.
Andrew Trent has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Katsumoto keeping moving, preventing Trent from controlling successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Andrew Trent comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Trent has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
