Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Stalit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Stalit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takanori Gomi! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stalit fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gomi scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Ryan Stalit has been cut. Stalit tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gomi paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stalit throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gomi misses with a series of wild punches.

Stalit misses with a few strikes there.
A combination from Gomi does no damage. Gomi looks to land a combination but Stalit avoids it well. Stalit tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Stalit throws a combination that misses and Gomi counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Gomi tries to bum rush Stalit with a series of wild strikes but Stalit uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Stalit throws a sloppy head kick and Gomi moves out of range easily. Gomi lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Gomi throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Stalit fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Stalit tries a head kick but it misses.
Gomi throws a series of punches but Stalit avoids them all with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gomi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Stalit counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gomi's guard now. Gomi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stalit is controlling him. Gomi tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stalit throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stalit postures up.
Gomi wants to stand but Stalit is controlling the position. Gomi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gomi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stalit is controlling him. Stalit postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gomi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stalit, into his guard. Gomi working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gomi gets to his feet. Stalit looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Takanori Gomi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Stalit gets a clinch. Stalit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stalit throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A head kick misses from Stalit. Stalit throws a head kick that half lands.
Ryan Stalit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gomi fails to land with a series of punches.
Gomi throws a series of punches but Stalit moves out of range. Gomi pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Stalit back to the cage. Gomi follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Gomi looks gassed! Gomi throws a right and a left that both miss. Sloppy strikes from Gomi. Those never looked like landing. Stalit clinches with his opponent.
Gomi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Stalit gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Stalit can't get the takedown.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gomi is trying to force a seperation but Stalit has the dominant position. Stalit pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Stalit stops a takedown attempt from Gomi.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stalit decides to pull guard. Gomi is posturing up here but Stalit has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Gomi tries to roll out but it's too tight and Gomi has to tap! Slick submission there by Stalit!
