Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Bebeto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Senju (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Bebeto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Takanori Senju! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Senju shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Senju showed some decent athleticism there. Bebeto regains full guard. Nicely done. Senju trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Senju controls from within his opponent's guard. Bebeto is trying to keep Senju in close.
Senju slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Senju is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Senju is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Senju shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Senju showed some decent athleticism there. Senju is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Senju thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bebeto's head.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Senju doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bebeto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Bebeto bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bebeto scores a takedown into full mount! Senju prevents Bebeto from taking his back. Senju regains half guard. Senju wants to control but Bebeto is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Senju is trying to get back to full guard. Senju moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Senju controls Bebeto momentarily but Bebeto frees himself. Senju being controlled here, momentarily. Senju throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Senju escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bebeto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Senju is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Senju missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Senju lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Bebeto wants to improve his position but Senju is controlling well.

Takanori Senju dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Senju throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bebeto was covering up waiting for the punch and Senju finishes the takedown easily into guard. Senju throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bebeto works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Senju trying to control but Bebeto is working from the bottom. Senju works over Bebeto with some ground and pound from guard. Senju stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bebeto swivels though and keeps the full guard. Senju has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Senju avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bebeto keeping full guard, as Senju tries to pass. Bebeto could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Senju lands a couple of elbows. Senju slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Let's hope that Senju has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Bebeto keeping moving, preventing Senju from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Senju pushing down on Bebeto's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Senju lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Senju thows a huge punch but Bebeto dodges it nicely.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Takanori Senju. Bebeto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Senju looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Senju misses with an elbow from the bottom. Takanori Senju has got the better of the ground game so far. Senju manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bebeto's best efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Senju looking for a kimura from the bottom but Bebeto passes into side control! Senju is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bebeto's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Senju regains full guard. Nicely done. Senju is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Bebeto trying to control the position from guard on top but Senju is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Senju lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bebeto! Senju content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takanori Senju showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Senju closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bebeto did well to prevent Senju getting side control. Bebeto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Senju is working away from the top position though. Senju content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Bebeto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Senju pulls his head out easily. Bebeto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Still in half guard, Senju seems content to control. Senju landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Bebeto is in trouble now - Senju has advanced to mount! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bebeto in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Senju raining down shots from the mount! Senju moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bebeto has worked his arm free - good work by Bebeto!
Senju takes a little break here. Bebeto wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Senju lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bebeto down.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Senju tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Senju has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Senju moves into full mount!

Senju goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bebeto is on top in guard.
Senju seems keen to control Bebeto's posture. Senju is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Bebeto rolls with it to try and escape but Senju cranks on the arm and Bebeto is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
