Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kal El!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Assis Civita!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Civita counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Civita shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Civita throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Civita scoring with strikes to the body and head.
El looks like he's trying to stand up.
Civita is trying to work for a kimura but El is defending well.
Civita working over El with some ground and pound. El looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Civita missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
El is in trouble now - Civita has advanced to mount!
Civita working for a submission but El is keeping him at bay.
El is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Civita is working for a guillotine from mount but El frees his head quite easily.
El knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Civita on the ground.
El defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Civita.
El tries to reverse the position but Civita maintains control.
Civita lands a big shot there that rocks El but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
It looks like Kal El has been cut.
A nice elbow there by Civita.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Civita looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
El tries to hold on but Civita postures up.
Civita is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, El has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Civita won't let El get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Civita has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Civita is going oldschool here, as he tries to force El to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so El shrugs it off.
Civita lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
El is rocked!
Kal El's cut is getting worse.
Civita quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Civita but it's paid off an El is forced to tap! Nice work by Civita.
