The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPunch throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Deal cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Deal shoots in and gets a takedown into McPunch's guard.
Deal won't allow McPunch to get back to his feet.
McPunch looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
McPunch is looking to sweep but instead, Deal has passed into half guard.
Deal is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
McPunch is in trouble now - Deal has advanced to mount!
McPunch is working to get back to half guard.
McPunch tries to lock up and control but Deal gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Deal looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
McPunch is in a horrible position here. Deal smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
McPunch keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

McPunch wants to control but Deal is having none of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McPunch can do anything to dispel that myth.
