Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hank Hill!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez tries a head kick but it misses.
Hill scores with the left hand. Sanchez knows he should have avoided that one.
A big right from Hill misses.
Sanchez pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Hill looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hill wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanchez keeps working.
Hill tries to pass to full mount but Sanchez defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hill postures up.
Hill is looking to work some ground and pound but Sanchez has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hill wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

Sanchez looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hill passes into half guard.
Hill passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Sanchez!
Hill takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hill wants to finish this one by submission but Sanchez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hill.

Hill prevents Sanchez from getting the reversal.
Sanchez wants to hold on but Hill pushes him away.
Sanchez is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hill throwing strikes here but Sanchez is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Poor strikes thrown by Hill there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Sanchez tries to hold on but Hill postures up.
Hill lands a nice shot to the head.

Sanchez can't escape the position.
Sanchez wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hill.
Sanchez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sanchez wants to hold on but Hill pushes him away.

Sanchez wants to control but Hill is having none of it.
Sanchez tries to control Hill's body but Hill pushes him off. Sanchez squirms to his side and now Hill has his back!
Can Sanchez hold on?! Hill is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Hill connects with a big shot to the side of Sanchez's head.

Hill has the hooks in. Sanchez is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Sanchez trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hill is trying to stick to Sanchez's back but Sanchez is turning into Hill. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hill's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sanchez.
Hill has control of Sanchez's left arm, preventing Sanchez from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hank Hill dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Sanchez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hill tries to free his leg and advance position but Sanchez is retaining full guard.
Hill won't allow Sanchez to sweep him here.

Sanchez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sanchez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Hill keeps moving.

Sanchez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hill is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hill has escaped and now he's on top!
Hill advances position into side control!
Sanchez is looking for a sweep.

Sanchez manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hill wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanchez keeps working.
Sanchez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hill is working away from the top position though.
Hill looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Sanchez is trying to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez is working hard here to advance position.
Hill trying to control from half guard but Sanchez is working away.
Hill wants to free his trapped foot but Sanchez is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sanchez trying to hold on to Hill's head to control him but Hill postures up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hill swings for the body but Sanchez moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sanchez has managed to clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Sanchez throws a punch but it's blocked by Hill.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hill fails with the takedown.

Sanchez moves into range and clinches up with Hill.
Sanchez stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Hill is breathing heavily.

Hill is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sanchez can't fight it off and eventually Hill manages to take the fight to the floor. Sanchez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sanchez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Juan Sanchez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Sanchez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sanchez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hill. Sanchez does a little dance to reset his feet.

Sanchez gets a clinch.
Hill tries to stall but Sanchez uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A short uppercut from Sanchez.
Sanchez struggles to land a body shot inside as Hill controls his hands.
A head punch on the inside from Sanchez fails to land.
Sanchez lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hill backwards.
Hill prevents a body shot from Sanchez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hill scores with a hook to the body.
Sanchez is pressed up against the cage. Hill has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sanchez down to the mat. Sanchez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Sanchez throws a head kick that Hill semi-blocks.
Nice body punch from Sanchez.
Hill takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sanchez throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hill's head.

Sanchez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sanchez lands in his opponent's guard.

Hill manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sanchez misses with a head kick.
A head kick misses from Sanchez.
Sanchez fails with the takedown

and Hill counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Sanchez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sanchez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hill's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Sanchez keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hill is looking to take a break and control but Sanchez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sanchez is pressing down on Hill's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Sanchez looking for a guillotine here but Hill defends easily.
Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sanchez has his foot on Hill's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hill works his way back into a safe position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Juan Sanchez showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Sanchez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
