Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fred Silverman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heero Yuy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Yuy's choice of entrance music: Coma Black - Marilyn Manson. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Heero Yuy!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silverman fails with the takedown.
Yuy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silverman.
Silverman scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Yuy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Silverman backs up against the cage.
Yuy misses with a double jab
and Silverman counters with a stiff right hand.
Yuy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Yuy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Silverman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yuy's guard now.
Yuy keeping full guard, as Silverman tries to pass.
Silverman throwing strikes but missing.
Silverman trying to control the position from guard on top but Yuy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Silverman stopping the sweep attempt from Yuy.

Yuy is trying to control the position but Silverman postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yuy can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silverman advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yuy is looking for a sweep.
Silverman is staying tight to Yuy's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Yuy prevents Silverman from moving into mount.
Yuy is letting Silverman control him for a moment.
Silverman advances to full mount.
Silverman looking to finish with strikes here!
Yuy wants to hold on but Silverman pushes him away.

Yuy is trying desperately to improve position.
Yuy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Silverman looking to control but Yuy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Silverman working for a submission but Yuy is keeping him at bay.
Silverman with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Yuy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Silverman has hold of Yuy's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Yuy manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Silverman avoids the attempt from Yuy to control.
Yuy regains half guard.

Silverman works his way into full mount!
Silverman wants to control the pace but Yuy is squirming around nicely.
Yuy is desperately trying to improve his position but Silverman has a good base and remains in mount.
Silverman working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Yuy looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Silverman! Submission of the night perhaps?
