PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Staph Aureus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Hardlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Hardlock told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardlock darts in trying to clinch
and Aureus counters with a stiff right hand.
Hardlock tries to clinch but fails miserably
enabling Aureus to counter with a crisp jab.
Hardlock misses with a right hand
and Aureus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hardlock tries to clinch but Aureus moves away
and Aureus counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hardlock moves to clinch but Aureus breaks away
and Aureus counters with a straight right hand.
Hardlock looks to clinch
and Aureus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Aureus closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Aureus is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hardlock doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aureus.
Hardlock is looking to control Aureus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hardlock avoid being mounted?
Aureus uses his free foot to push down on Hardlock's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hardlock.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hardlock is trying to escape the mount.
Hardlock takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Aureus's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
