PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rusty Helber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helber comes to the cage accompanied by War is coming. On his way into the cage it seems that Rusty Helber has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rusty Helber seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rusty Helber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Marsh!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helber tries to move into range but Marsh moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Marsh lands a nice shot to the body.
Helber looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Helber tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marsh was well out of range. Poor timing from Helber.
Marsh keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Helber doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Marsh counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Helber is looking for a sweep. Marsh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Marsh wants to pass to mount but Helber is defending the position.

Marsh seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Helber does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Helber is not content to let Marsh control the position.

Marsh is working for a kimura but Helber is defending it quite comfortably.
Helber pushes Marsh off but Marsh dives into side control.
Helber tries to bench press Marsh off him but Marsh keeps the position.
Helber takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randy Marsh dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Marsh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Helber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marsh circles away quickly and effectively.

Marsh shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Helber is trying to defend but Marsh finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Helber tries to roll over but Marsh keeps him under control.

Helber will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Marsh is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Helber is looking to get back to is feet but Marsh passes into side control.

Helber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marsh on the ground.

Helber is working to avoid the ground and pound but Marsh connects with a decent elbow.

Marsh is trying to get an arm triangle but Helber is defending well.
Helber wants to control but Marsh postures up.
Helber manages to work his way to half guard, despite Marsh's best efforts.

Marsh is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Helber sees it coming and defends easily.

Marsh is trying to control the action in half guard but Helber is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Helber is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Marsh pulls his head out easily.
Marsh working over Helber with some ground and pound. Helber looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Helber manages to get to full guard.
Helber lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Marsh!

Marsh is looking to improve his position but Helber isn't that keen on the idea.

Marsh avoids a series of strikes thrown by Helber.
Helber lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Marsh hang on?

Whack. That's a big, big shot from Helber! Marsh is out cold! This one is all over!
