The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lashley misses with a takedown
and Lange cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Decent striking displayed by Lange there.
It looks like Bobby Lashley has been cut.
Lashley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lange lands a left and a right that send Lashley crashing to the mat, dazed. Lange thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lashley shoots and misses
and Lange counters with a nice uppercut.
Lange drops his hands momentarily and Lashley takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Lashley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lange counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lashley thinking.
Artie Lange has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Lashley.
Lashley looks gassed!
Lange feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Lashley sprawling to the canvas! Lashley rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lange finish him?!
That has opened up Bobby Lashley's cut even more.
Lange fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Lashley to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Lashley looks to clinch but Lange throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Lashley taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Artie Lange!
