PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vince Mimsy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Awesome Pumpkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mimsy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dropkick Murphys - Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pumpkin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pumpkin staying calm.
Mimsy is looking for a sweep.
Pumpkin taking a break here but Mimsy is having none of it and regains half guard.

Mimsy lands a nice looking body shot.

Pumpkin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Pumpkin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mimsy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mimsy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pumpkin's guard.
Pumpkin is looking to stand up but Mimsy isn't so interested in that idea.

Mimsy is really struggling to control Pumpkin but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Mimsy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mimsy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Awesome Pumpkin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Mimsy looks to land a left hand but Pumpkin moved out of range nicely.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mimsy enables Pumpkin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mimsy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mimsy wants to sweep here but Pumpkin controlling him for the moment.

Mimsy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mimsy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pumpkin's guard.

Mimsy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pumpkin is just riding it out for now. Mimsy eventually gives up the hold.

Pumpkin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mimsy is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Pumpkin rolls with it to try and escape but Mimsy cranks on the arm and Pumpkin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
