PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Fabiski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rage comes into the arena with Lava Lava blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Chris Rage has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Chris Rage seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Fabiski!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabiski finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rage shoots for a takedown but Fabiski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fabiski wants to clinch but Rage slips to the side

and Rage decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fabiski's guard.
Fabiski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Fabiski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rage. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rage is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fabiski defends it well.
Fabiski is looking to control Rage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fabiski avoid being mounted?

Fabiski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rage can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rage postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Fabiski wants to stand but Rage is controlling the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fabiski isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Rage stacks Fabiski on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Rage!
Fabiski is looking for a sweep.

Rage throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Rage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fabiski tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rage throws a strike aimed at the side of Fabiski's head but Fabiski avoids it well.
Fabiski tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Rage presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fabiski is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rage landing strikes from the mount and Fabiski is in trouble!

Rage looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Fabiski tries to lock up and control but Rage gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fabiski blocking the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rage unloads with some shots from mount but Fabiski bucks and avoids them well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Rage scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fabiski can't do much from the bottom here.
Fabiski throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fabiski breaks Rage's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Fabiski tries to free his leg and advance position but Rage is retaining full guard.

Rage kicks Fabiski off and gets to his feet.
Rage shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fabiski but Fabiski pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fabiski is trying to hold Rage in close to prevent damage but Rage has managed to pass into half guard.
Lucas Fabiski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chris Rage is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fabiski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rage is working away from the top position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chris Rage showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rage, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
