Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Lamont! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Duke Griffin! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lamont throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Griffin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lamont is in Griffin's guard. Lamont slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lamont wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Griffin, who protects the arm well. Griffin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Lamont is looking for a kimura but Griffin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lamont to get the leverage. Lamont wants to work for an arm triangle but Griffin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Griffin moves into full guard.
Griffin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Griffin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lamont lands a couple of decent looking shots. Lamont trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lamont is breathing heavily. Griffin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lamont has left one of his arms exposed and Griffin doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Lamont screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
