Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Falcetti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Diego Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez misses with a series of wild punches.
Falcetti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Falcetti lands with a kick to the temple. Sanchez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Sanchez is rocked!
Some wild striking there from Falcetti.
Sanchez is still on wobbly legs! Can Falcetti finish him?
Falcetti throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Falcetti misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanchez seems to have recovered his senses.
Falcetti pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sanchez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Falcetti can pounce on him.
Falcetti throws the left hand but Sanchez avoids the punch easily.
Falcetti throws a quick inside leg kick.
Sanchez looks gassed!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Falcetti fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanchez, pushing him back against the cage.
Falcetti breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Falcetti moves to clinch but Sanchez breaks away
and Sanchez counters by clinching up.
Falcetti's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sanchez keeps the fight on the outside.
Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Falcetti as he jumps to the side.
Falcetti shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sanchez eats them both and turns towards Falcetti to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters circle, before Falcetti throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Sanchez's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Falcetti lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Steve Falcetti!
