The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luciano is looking to clinch but Gibson is avoiding it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Charlie Luciano was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Gibson throws a series of punches but Luciano moves out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gibson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Gibson tries a low kick but Luciano avoids it.
Luciano slips a jab and a cross from Gibson.

Hutch Gibson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Luciano scores with a sloppy right hand. Gibson should have avoided that one.

Gibson is trying to drag Luciano to the mat but Luciano just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Gibson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Luciano is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gibson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Luciano is pushing Gibson's head away, looking to escape. Gibson manages to hold on to the position though.

Gibson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
