Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Carlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Drogi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drogi has chosen Engine No. 9 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Carlo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Drogi! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Drogi! Carlo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Carlo working for a guillotine from mount but Drogi is in no mood to give up. Drogi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Carlo. Carlo moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Drogi has worked his arm free - good work by Drogi!
Drogi is pushing Carlo's head away, looking to escape. Carlo manages to hold on to the position though. Carlo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Drogi to his feet. Don Drogi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Drogi. Drogi misses with a wild combination.

It looks like Jim Carlo has been cut. A punch combination from Drogi misses. Carlo shoots in and drives through. Drogi sprawls well. Some wild striking there from Drogi.
Carlo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Carlo looking to sit in guard and control but Drogi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Carlo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drogi trying to control but Carlo is working from the bottom. Carlo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Drogi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Carlo holds on and takes a little breather. Carlo wants to sweep here but Drogi controlling him for the moment. Drogi with a flurry of punches that miss. Carlo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Drogi is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drogi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carlo has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Drogi off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Carlo shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Carlo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Drogi tries to kick Carlo off but Carlo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Carlo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Drogi pushes Carlo off looking to stand but Carlo dives back in and keeps control.
Drogi kicks Carlo off and gets back to his feet. Sloppy strikes from Drogi. Those never looked like landing. Drogi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carlo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Drogi's waist but Drogi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carlo off to one side. Carlo slips under a jab. Carlo walks forward, straight into a front kick from Drogi. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Drogi throws a sloppy head kick and Carlo moves out of range easily. Drogi looks gassed! Drogi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Carlo shoots in and bounces Drogi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carlo looking to sit in guard and control but Drogi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jim Carlo will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jim Carlo's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Carlo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Drogi but Drogi pushes him off and we're back to square one. Carlo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carlo has an Americana. Drogi didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Carlo is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Carlo hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
