Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Jones! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Russo to the mat! Russo manages to get full guard. Russo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Russo wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Russo has Jones pulled in close to control his posture. Russo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Russo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Russo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Russo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones. Russo looks like he's trying to stand up.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Jones looks to land a strike but Russo avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Jones is working Russo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Russo has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage. Russo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Russo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Jon Jones dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jones shoots in but Russo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jones throws a leg kick and Russo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Russo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The fight stays on the outside here - Russo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones throws a series of strikes that have Russo backpedaling.
Jones shoots and misses and Russo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Russo. Mikey Russo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Jones. A frustrated look appears on Russo's face as he tries to break the clinch. Jones gets underhooks to prevent Russo's takedown attempt.
Russo wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Russo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones jumps guard but Russo stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Russo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Jones shoots in for a double leg but Russo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jones has a takedown stuffed. Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Russo is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jones working the head and body with strikes.

A much better position for Russo. Jones stands up over Russo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Russo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Russo's head. Jones landing with the ground and pound. Russo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Russois looking to pass into half guard but Jones pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jones is in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jones throws a strike but Russo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Russo tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Russo content to stall in guard here. Russo stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Russo as he jumps to the side. Jones throws a right hand that Russo ducks under and follows up with a left that Russo also avoids with ease. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Mikey Russo will probably get the nod. That's time! Russo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
An inside leg kick from Jones misses. Jones lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Russo backs up against the cage.
Jones uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Russo has time to react. Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Russo avoids it really well and circles away. A punch lands to the side of Russo 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jones lands with an uppercut that bounces Russo off the cage and back into rage. Russo tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones throws a nice looking combination but Russo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Russo shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well. Jones lands a leg kick that knocks Russo off balance momentarily. Russo pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch. Russo tries to circle away but Jones has him pinned against the cage. Russo jumps guard and drags Jones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Russo has Jones pulled in close to control his posture. Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Russo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones! Russo landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Russo controlling from the full mount. Russo scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jones?
Poor strikes thrown by Russo there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Russo content just to control the position here. Russo has hold of Jones's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jones manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Russo sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Russo looking to finish with strikes here!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mikey Russo. I think Russo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
