Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ren Akita! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Little! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akita gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Little trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Little must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Little trying to control but Akita is working from the bottom. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Akita is pulling down on Little's head. It's preventing any offense from Little, at least for the moment. Akita throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Little pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Akita is keeping the position for now. Little wants to control from the top but Akita keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Little fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Akita. Little fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Akita is out of range. An inside leg kick lands from Little. Little misses with a low kick. Akita gets the takedown into side control. Akita controlling from side mount. Akita is looking to take a break and control but Little is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Little is trying to improve his position. Little is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Little can't do much from the bottom here. Akita tries for a kimura but Little is defending well. Little is trying to control Akita's posture but Akita avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Little sneaks back into half guard. Little is looking to improve his position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Little doesn't succeed with the takedown and Akita counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Akita takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Akita in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Little tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Akita!
