Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Royce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Jitsu!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jitsu was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Jitsu is retaining full guard.
Jitsu keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
Jitsu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jitsu is pulling down on Gracie's head to control his posture.
Gracie advances to half guard.
Gracie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jitsu is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Gracie tries to control but Jitsu wriggling away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie avoids the attempt from Jitsu to control.
Gracie controlling from the full mount.
Jitsu is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gracie looking to control but Jitsu is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jitsu can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Gracie goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jitsu turns into him and now he's in Gracie's guard.
Jitsu stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jitsu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now.
Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jitsu should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Jitsu should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
