Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Helio Teixera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teixera comes to the cage accompanied by ''Its Not War, Just The End of Love'' by The Manic Street Preachers. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Helio Teixera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matheus Mendes! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mendes pushing down on Teixera's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Mendes seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Teixera has his hands clasped together around Mendes's back. He's all about the action. Mendes passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes looking to control but Teixera is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Poor strikes thrown by Mendes there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mendes unloads with some shots from mount but Teixera bucks and avoids them well.
Mendes looking to control but Teixera is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mendes cracks Teixera with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Teixera is squirming around, avoiding Mendes's attempts to control the action. Mendes sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Mendes trying to control but Teixera is having none of it. Teixera holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Mendes tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mendes trying to control but he's not successful this time. Mendes controlling the position easily from mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mendes working for a submission but Teixera is keeping him at bay. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matheus Mendes dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mendes with a poor takedown enabling Teixera to counter with a crisp jab. Teixera misses with a takedown attempt and Mendes counters with a nice double leg into side control. Teixera won't be happy with that. Mendes wants to control but Teixera is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Teixera will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Matheus Mendes wasn't active enough on the ground. Mendes shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Teixera counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Mendes tries to roll over but Teixera keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Teixera wants to take a breather but Mendes is having none of it. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mendes lands with a shot to the body. Mendes lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mendes. Mendes tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Teixera counters with a takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendes tries to improve position but can't. Mendes sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Mendes wants to get back to his feet.
Mendes slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mendes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Matheus Mendes will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Mendes throws a head kick that misses. Mendes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Teixera counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Mendes wants to control but Teixera is keeping busy.
Teixera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendes on the ground. Mendes is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Teixera is staying active.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes is looking to escape.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Matheus Mendes was stalling too much, according to the referee. Mendes shoots and misses and Teixera counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mendes's guard now. Teixera avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Helio Teixera overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mendes wants to control but Teixera passes easily into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendes is trying to stand up here but Teixera is controlling him well. Teixera is thwarting Mendes's attempts to control the position. Mendes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Matheus Mendes. Mendes misses with a takedown attempt and Teixera counters with a nice double leg into guard. Helio Teixera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matheus Mendes. Teixera trying to control the position from guard on top but Mendes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mendes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Teixera stopping the sweep attempt from Mendes. Mendes working a defensive guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! Helio Teixera showed his dominance in that final round. I think Mendes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
