Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grande Mucho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Leahy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Grande Mucho! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Leahy! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab-cross combination lands for Leahy and sends Mucho crashing to the mat! Leahy follows him down to the mat - Mucho regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Mucho is rocked!
It looks like Grande Mucho has been cut. Mucho might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Leahy tries to stand but can't do so whilst Mucho controls his leg. Oh Mucho is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mucho seems to have got his legs back now. Mucho desperately trying to maintain half guard. Leahy tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Leahy prevents Mucho from improving his position. Leahy tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mucho.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leahy looks gassed! Mucho is controlling Leahy's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mucho circles away from the clinch attempt and Leahy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mucho could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Leahy moves to clinch but Mucho breaks away and Mucho counters with a straight right hand. Leahy tries to clinch but Mucho moves away and Mucho counters with a stiff right hand. Leahy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mucho moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Leahy misses with a wild combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mucho tries to bum rush Leahy with a series of wild strikes but Leahy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. James Leahy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big left from Mucho misses. Mucho tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Leahy wants to clinch and Mucho counters with a shoot takedown. Leahy fights it but they end up in guard. Mucho slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mucho is working Leahy over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Mucho is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mucho passes Leahy's left leg - he's now in half guard. Mucho slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mucho has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Leahy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mucho takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Mucho stalling. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Grande Mucho wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mucho misses with a head kick.

and Leahy counters with a three punch combo that has Mucho backing up. Mucho nods at Leahy to acknowledge the strikes. Some wild striking there from Leahy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mucho fails to land with a series of punches.

Mucho ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Leahy moves away. Mucho shoots in and gets a takedown into Leahy's guard. Mucho advances position into side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Mucho is working to tighten is grip on Leahy's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Leahy has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mucho is really squeezing tight and eventually Leahy passes out! Mucho breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
