Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joey Blank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matheus Dutra! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blank slaps away a takedown attempt from Dutra, before circling back to the center of the mat. Blank throws a nice looking combination but Dutra bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Dutra misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Blank looks to land a combination but Dutra avoids it well. Blank throws a right and a left that Dutra avoids nicely. Blank throws a right hand that Dutra ducks under and follows up with a left that Dutra also avoids with ease. Blank gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dutra to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dutra drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dutra jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Blank keeping full guard, as Dutra tries to pass. That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dutra accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dutra trying to control but Blank is working from the bottom. Dutra slips nicely into half guard. Dutra performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Dutra wants to work for an arm triangle but Blank is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dutra in particular looking to stall. Dutra is thwarting Blank's attempts to control the position. Blank wants to improve his position but Dutra is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dutra wants to control but Blank is keeping him busy. Dutra is trying to work for a kimura but Blank is defending well.
Dutra is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Blank defends it well. Dutra is working for a kimura but Blank is defending it quite comfortably.
Dutra is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blank is just riding it out for now. Dutra eventually gives up the hold. Dutra passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Blank!

Dutra tries to control but Blank wriggling away. Dutra misses with a head shot. Dutra trying to control but Blank is having none of it. Blank is looking to improve his position but Dutra isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dutra is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Blank is surviving well by controlling Dutra's body position as best he can. Dutra is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Blank has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Blank is trying desperately to improve position. Dutra punching from mount but Blank doing a good job of avoiding damage. Dutra tries to control but Blank wriggling away. Dutra has isolated one of Blank's arms. Blank looking to fight him off but Dutra twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
