Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rodrigo De Noteboom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zaurbek Beygansiev! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Noteboom keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
De Noteboom fails with a takedown attempt. Beygansiev moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. De Noteboom fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beygansiev avoids it really well and circles away. Beygansiev tries to clinch there but De Noteboom circles away.
Beygansiev rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but De Noteboom moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Zaurbek Beygansiev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Beygansiev misses the target. Beygansiev throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
De Noteboom shoots in for a takedown but Beygansiev shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrigo De Noteboom. That's going to take a lot out of him. Beygansiev misses with a straight left. De Noteboom closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - De Noteboom lands in his opponent's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Beygansiev can do anything to dispel that myth. De Noteboom sitting in guard here, content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Zaurbek Beygansiev has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. De Noteboom fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Beygansiev avoids it really well and circles away. Beygansiev moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Noteboom looks for a takedown but Beygansiev sprawls well. Beygansiev fails with the takedown and De Noteboom decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Beygansiev's guard. De Noteboom won't allow Beygansiev to get back to his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! De Noteboom controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rodrigo De Noteboom has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. De Noteboom looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Beygansiev is fending him off so far but De Noteboom persists. Nope, Beygansiev circles away and we're back to standing. No luck for De Noteboom with that takedown attempt. Beygansiev throws a head kick that misses. Beygansiev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. De Noteboom circles away from the clinch attempt.
Beygansiev tries to clinch up. De Noteboom bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. De Noteboom works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beygansiev can't do much from the bottom here. De Noteboom misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
De Noteboom is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Beygansiev will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Beygansiev is looking to reverse the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Zaurbek Beygansiev will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Beygansiev shoots and misses and De Noteboom counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by De Noteboom. De Noteboom sitting in guard here, content to control. De Noteboom is looking to work some ground and pound but Beygansiev has wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Beygansiev works De Noteboom's body with a nice hook.

Beygansiev wants to clinch. De Noteboom fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Beygansiev has his takedown stuffed and De Noteboom counters with a nice double leg into guard. Beygansiev is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst De Noteboom is controlling him. Beygansiev keeping full guard, as De Noteboom tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Noteboom is pushing down on Beygansiev's leg trying to pass to half guard. Beygansiev is fighting to maintain full guard but De Noteboom has managed to sneak the leg through. De Noteboom keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. De Noteboom passes the guard and advances to mount! A nice elbow there by De Noteboom.
It looks like Zaurbek Beygansiev has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De Noteboom takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. De Noteboom working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That has opened up Zaurbek Beygansiev's cut even more. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De Noteboom content just to control the position here. Beygansiev wants to control but De Noteboom is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. De Noteboom connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Rodrigo De Noteboom dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Zaurbek Beygansiev's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Zaurbek Beygansiev's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
