The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Kurdupoy checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kurdupoy.
Carioca tries to clinch

and Kurdupoy counters by clinching up.
Carioca creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Mahiyain Kurdupoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kurdupoy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carioca is trying to defend but Kurdupoy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carioca wants to stand back up but Kurdupoy manages to pass into side control.
Carioca is looking to get back to his feet here but Kurdupoy is keeping cool and he's managed to take Carioca's back.
