Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sepp Maier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maier's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Apaga mas não bate. Dixon is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Clash - I Fought The Law. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sepp Maier! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Dixon! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maier checks a low kick from Dixon. Maier doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dixon counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dixon throws a lazy head kick and Maier counters with a shoot takedown. Dixon fights it but they end up in guard. Dixon looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Maier prevents Dixon from getting back to his feet. Maier drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dixon dives on top into guard. Maier has his foot on Dixon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dixon works his way back into a safe position though. Dixon wants to stand but Maier is controlling his posture from full guard. Dixon stands up from Maier's guard - Dixon perhaps looking for a knockout. Dixon rushes Maier and presses him up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dixon breaks from the clinch.
Dixon throws a right and a left that both miss. Dixon throws a hook but Maier avoids it easily. Dixon throws a predictable looking body shot
and Maier decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dixon's guard. Maier tries to free his leg and advance position but Dixon is retaining full guard. Maier prevents Dixon from getting back to his feet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maier accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dixon has his feet on Maier's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Maier gets the takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dixon wants to get back to his feet but Maier drags him back down. Maier working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Maier is trying to get an arm triangle but Dixon is defending well. Maier misses with the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dixon wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Maier tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dixon is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Maier off and has taken his back! Dixon has the hooks in. Maier is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maier is working hard here to advance position. Dixon is trying to stick to Maier's back but Maier is turning into Dixon. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Dixon's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Maier. Dixon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Maier throws a big right hand that misses. Maier is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dixon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dixon has escaped and now he's on top! Dixon stands up from guard. Let's bang! Dixon throws a leg kick but Maier checks it. Maier gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dixon counters with a good low kick that Maier was not able to check.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dixon's corner calls for a 1-2. Dixon obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Peter Dixon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dixon throws a one two combo.
Dixon swings and misses with a shot to the body and Maier counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dixon! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maier fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dixon wants to get back to his feet.
Maier goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Dixon is on top in guard.
Dixon tries to stand but Maier is controlling from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dixon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Dixon!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sepp Maier will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Maier tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dixon counters with a leg kick. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Maier crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dixon - the referee stops the clock and Maier gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dixon. Maier manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Maier with a lazy takedown attempt and Dixon moves into the clinch. Maier has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dixon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Dixon manages to break the clinch.
Dixon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maier was well out of range. Poor timing from Dixon. Dixon lands a body shot.
Dixon closes the distance and pushes Maier back into the cage. Dixon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dixon takes the fight into the clinch. Maier changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dixon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sepp Maier. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Maier fails with the takedown and Dixon counters with a slapping leg kick. Dixon rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
so Maier counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Dixon looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sepp Maier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dixon uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Sepp Maier is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dixon misses with a looping right. Dixon tries to land a front kick but Maier steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maier tries for a takedown but Dixon circles away easily and Dixon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dixon tries to clinch up. Dixon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dixon is looking to clinch but Maier is avoiding it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dixon smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Dixon lands the left hand. Dixon misses with a double jab
and Maier decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dixon's guard. Dixon wants to stand and escape but Maier is having none of it. Dixon will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Maier prevents Dixon from getting back to his feet. Maier slips nicely into half guard. Dixon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maier pulls his head out easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maier is nestled in close to Dixon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Maier is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Maier is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Maier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dixon sees it coming and defends easily. Dixon is trying to maintain the position but Maier is very close to passing his half guard. Maier is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dixon is just riding it out for now. Maier eventually gives up the hold. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maier is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dixon sees it coming and defends easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A telegraphed right hand from Dixon misses the target. Maier doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dixon finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Dixon thuds his right hand into Maier's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Dixon dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maier uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dixon. Maier with a poor takedown and Dixon counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Maier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Maier tries to free his leg and advance position but Dixon is retaining full guard. Dixon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maier gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Maier postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dixon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maier, into his guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Dixon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dixon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dixon gets to his feet - Maier follows without any prompting. Dixon just misses with a punch to the body.
Dixon throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Maier tries for a takedown but Dixon circles away easily and Dixon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. No joy there for Dixon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Maier misses with a takedown and Dixon counters with a one-two to the body. Maier misses with a takedown attempt letting Dixon counter with a right hand. Dixon clinches up with Maier and pushes him back against the cage. Dixon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dixon throws a lazy head kick and Maier counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maier. Dixon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Maier. Dixon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Maier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maier stopping the sweep attempt from Dixon. Dixon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maier is controlling him. Maier is sitting in close to Dixon's body. Dixon has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Maier is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Maier is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Dixon.
