Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gunter Kicurasz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Sorenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kicurasz comes into the arena with Stemm - Face the Pain blaring out of the sound system. Gunter Kicurasz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kicurasz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sorenson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kicurasz is in Sorenson's guard.

Sorenson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Sorenson pushes Kicurasz off and gets back to his feet.
Sorenson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kicurasz pinned against the cage. Kicurasz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kicurasz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kicurasz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Sorenson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Kicurasz looking for a guillotine from mount but Sorenson is having none of it.

It looks like Kicurasz is going to stand back up.

Kicurasz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sorenson holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Kicurasz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sorenson is just riding it out for now. Kicurasz eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sorenson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sorenson.
Kicurasz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sorenson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kicurasz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sorenson, up you get!

Kicurasz has closed the distance and engaged Sorenson in a clinch.

Sorenson has Kicurasz pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sorenson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kicurasz tumbling to the mat - Sorenson dives into Kicurasz's guard.

Kicurasz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sorenson is controlling him.

That was a close round but I would say that Gunter Kicurasz will probably get the nod.

Kicurasz pushes Sorenson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sorenson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Sorenson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kicurasz keeps working.

Kicurasz sneaks out the side door and pushes Sorenson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Sorenson is working for takedown but Kicurasz is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kicurasz misses with a short punch on the inside.

Kicurasz falls off balance throwing a combination

so Sorenson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kicurasz pulls Sorenson in close to prevent any damage.

Kicurasz has momentary wrist control but Sorenson slips an elbow through the middle.

Sorenson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sorenson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kicurasz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sorenson won't allow Kicurasz to get back to his feet.

Sorenson wants to control but Kicurasz is keeping him busy.

Sorenson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kicurasz has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kicurasz manages to get back to half guard.

Sorenson escapes and gets back to his feet.
Sorenson is breathing heavily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sorenson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kicurasz prevents it.
Gunter Kicurasz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Sorenson.
A right hook to the body lands for Kicurasz.
Sorenson fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Kicurasz throws a punch but it's blocked by Sorenson.
Kicurasz tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kicurasz has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Sorenson drags the fight down to the ground.

Kicurasz trying to control the position from guard on top but Sorenson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kicurasz gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kicurasz lands with an uppercut that bounces Sorenson off the cage and back into rage.
Sorenson defending well as Kicurasz loads up on a big left hand.

Sorenson rushes Kicurasz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sorenson wants the takedown. Kicurasz is fighting it off but Sorenson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kicurasz's guard against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kicurasz pushes Sorenson off and scrambles back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate Sorenson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Sorenson moves into range and clinches up with Kicurasz.

Kicurasz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kicurasz misses with a jab to the body
and Sorenson counters with a nice uppercut.
Kicurasz cracks Sorenson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kicurasz lands with a hook. Sorenson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Kicurasz scores with a sloppy right hand. Sorenson should have avoided that one.

Sorenson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kicurasz defends it well.

Sorenson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Kicurasz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sorenson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sorenson moves into range and clinches up with Kicurasz.

Kicurasz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sorenson tries to free his leg and advance position but Kicurasz is retaining full guard.

Sorenson drops back looking for a leg! Kicurasz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kicurasz manages to kick Sorenson off! Sorenson jumps back into Kicurasz's guard.

Kicurasz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sorenson.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kicurasz sneaks out the side door and pushes Sorenson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Kicurasz lands with a good body shot.
Kicurasz feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sorenson's calf.

Sorenson drives through and clinches with Kicurasz against the cage.
Sorenson blocks an uppercut.

Kicurasz breaks from the clinch.

Sorenson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nate Sorenson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sorenson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
