Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali misses with a few strikes there.
Couture shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Couture misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Couture lands a big elbow.
Couture lands with some strikes.
Couture can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ali is looking to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ali falls off balance throwing a combination
and Couture counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ali's guard now.
Couture makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ali is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

so Couture counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Ali is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ali is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Couture has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ali avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Couture has Ali pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ali manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ali lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Couture circles away quickly and effectively.

and Couture counters with a shoot takedown. Ali fights it but they end up in guard.
Couture throws a strike but Ali rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Couture had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ali defends it easily.

Ali is pushing down on Couture's leg trying to pass to half guard. Couture is fighting to maintain full guard but Ali has managed to sneak the leg through.
Ali looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Ali throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Couture moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Couture wants to sweep here but Ali controlling him for the moment.
Couture has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ali is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Couture.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Couture here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Ali closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Couture shoots in for a double leg but Ali sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rocky Ali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ali takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Rocky Ali has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ali throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Couture counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ali won't be happy with that.
Couture working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

You can see the frustration on Ali's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Couture wants to control but Ali is keeping him busy.

I would just about give that final round to Rocky Ali.
I think Couture has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
