Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bartosz Kotowiec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Ang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ang has chosen Darude - Sandstorm as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bartosz Kotowiec!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Ang!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kotowiec has his takedown stuffed
and Ang counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Ang gets tackled into the cage by Kotowiec. Kotowiec maintains the clinch.

Ang's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ang moves into the clinch.
Ang is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kotowiec gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ang has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kotowiec is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kotowiec wants to stall.
Kotowiec prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bartosz Kotowiec has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Ang.

Ang drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kotowiec pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kotowiec will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kotowiec shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ang defends it nicely.

Kotowiec drives through and clinches with Ang against the cage.

Ang drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kotowiec pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kotowiec shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ang defends it nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kotowiec throws a sloppy body shot

and Ang counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ang just leaning against Kotowiec, taking a breather.
Kotowiec is pressed up against the cage. Ang has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kotowiec down to the mat. Kotowiec avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kotowiec doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ang counters with a single leg into guard. Kotowiec didn't expect that.
Kotowiec wants to sweep but no luck.
Kotowiec is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kotowiec looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Kotowiec looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ang drops back looking for a leg! Kotowiec is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kotowiec manages to kick Ang off! Ang jumps back into Kotowiec's guard.

Kotowiec escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Ang dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A shot to the body from Kotowiec misses

and Ang counters with a single leg into guard. Kotowiec didn't expect that.
Ang throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kotowiec manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ang manages to get himself to full guard.
Kotowiec pushes down on Ang's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Kotowiec is working for a submission of some sort.
Kotowiec is keen to just control but Ang is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kotowiec is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ang is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kotowiec is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kotowiec is pressing down on Ang's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ang is holding on for now.
Well, if Kotowiec is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kotowiec trying to pass the guard but Ang defending well.
Kotowiec wants to control but Ang is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ang regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kotowiec passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Kotowiec is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ang has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kotowiec trying to control the position but Ang is working away.
Ang manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Kotowiec is trying to control. Ang wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kotowiec is working away from the top position though.

Kotowiec uses his free foot to push down on Ang's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ang.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kotowiec lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Kotowiec is working for a guillotine from mount but Ang frees his head quite easily.
Kotowiec can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ang is looking to escape.

Kotowiec goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ang turns into him and now he's in Kotowiec's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bartosz Kotowiec will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Kotowiec forces Ang back against the cage and clinches.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kotowiec is on top in guard.

Bartosz Kotowiec overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kotowiec passes Ang's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kotowiec lands a nice short elbow.
Ang tries to get to full guard but Kotowiec has control of the leg.

Ang is trying to maintain the position but Kotowiec is very close to passing his half guard.

Kotowiec is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ang has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ang wants to control but Kotowiec is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kotowiec thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ang's head.
Kotowiec is thwarting Ang's attempts to control the position.
Kotowiec moves nicely into side control.
Ang takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kotowiec is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ang's shoulder. That is not cool.
Kotowiec trying to control the position but Ang is working away.
Kotowiec working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Kotowiec is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ang knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ang is squirming around, avoiding Kotowiec's attempts to control the action.

Kotowiec can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ang is looking to escape.

Ang has left one of his arms exposed and Kotowiec doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Ang screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
