Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Cracker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilfredo Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Cracker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wilfredo Newman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cracker uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Newman.
Cracker throws a quick inside leg kick.
Newman tries to clinch there but Cracker circles away.
Newman throws a right and a left that Cracker avoids nicely.
Newman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cracker moves away.
Newman is looking to clinch but Cracker is avoiding it.
Newman misses with a lunging right hand

and Cracker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Newman!
Cracker throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Cracker throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Newman because Cracker loaded up on that one.
Cracker lands a nice shot to the head.
Newman really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Cracker looking to control but Newman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Cracker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cracker throwing strikes here but Newman is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Cracker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cracker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Newman is looking to escape.
Cracker is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Newman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Cracker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Newman is looking to escape.

Cracker trying to control but Newman is having none of it.
Cracker sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cracker cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Cracker looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Newman throws a lazy right hand but Cracker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Newman throws a jab but it's blocked by Cracker.
Newman wants to clinch but Cracker slips to the side

and Cracker counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Cracker fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Newman lands a shoulder strike.
Cracker fails to pull guard.
Cracker tries to pull guard but Newman holds him up against the cage and eventually Cracker drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyler Cracker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cracker tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cracker jumps guard but Newman stands there with Cracker around his waist. Cracker gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Newman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cracker.

Cracker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cracker shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Cracker stands up and beckons Newman to join him on the feet.

Newman tries to sprawl but Cracker drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Cracker is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cracker wants to take a breather but Newman is having none of it.

Cracker with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cracker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Newman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We're going to have a standup here because Tyler Cracker wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Cracker shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Newman napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Cracker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cracker tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Cracker decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Newman takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A head kick misses from Cracker.

Cracker tries to clinch up.
Cracker lands a nice shot to the body.
Cracker lands a high kick!
Cracker shoots in for a takedown but Newman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Newman takes a swing at Cracker's ribcage but misses.

and Cracker counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Newman's guard now.
Newman keeping moving, preventing Cracker from controlling successfully.

Newman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cracker's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Cracker pushes down on Newman's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cracker is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Cracker with a couple of short strikes.
Cracker trying to control but Newman is having none of it.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Good leg kick by Cracker there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Cracker counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Newman is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Cracker closes the distance but Newman moves to the side
and Newman counters with a one-two to the body.

Cracker gets the takedown into side control.
Cracker is looking to take a break and control but Newman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cracker in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Newman is not content to let Cracker control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cracker in side control lands a decent elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Newman tries to bench press Cracker off him but Cracker keeps the position.
Newman managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cracker.

Cracker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Newman keeps working.
Cracker working the ground and pound but Newman is defending the strikes.

Cracker tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cracker tries to score with some ground and pound. Newman controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Wilfredo Newman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Newman avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Cracker.
Cracker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Newman tries to bench press Cracker off him but Cracker keeps the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cracker working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Newman takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Cracker works to advance to full mount. Newman defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Cracker controlling the position easily from mount.
Cracker looking to control but Newman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Tyler Cracker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cracker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
