Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roger Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orin Niswender (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Marsden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Orin Niswender!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Marsden looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Marsden tries to close the distance and clinch but Niswender swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marsden fails with an attempt to clinch.
Marsden moves into range and connects with a jab.
Niswender avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Niswender throws a head kick but Marsden moves out of range.
Marsden throws a half hearted mid kick.
Marsden misses with a body shot.
Marsden's corner calls for a 1-2. Marsden obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Niswender walks into a left hand.
Marsden is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

and Niswender counters with a crisp one two that drops Marsden! Niswender thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Marsden to his feet! Marsden is in big trouble!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marsden tries to close the distance and clinch but Niswender swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Niswender takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Marsden is looking to clinch but Niswender is avoiding it.
Marsden tries for a takedown but Niswender sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Niswender counters with a crisp right hand that drops Marsden! Niswender lets Marsden back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It looks like Roger Marsden has been cut.

A big left from Niswender misses.
Marsden shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Niswender as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Marsden. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Niswender avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Marsden is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marsden moves in looking to clinch but Niswender pushes him off.
Marsden throws the left hand but Niswender avoids the punch easily.

Marsden throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Marsden, as that shot connected.

Marsden is looking to clinch.
Orin Niswender is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A bone on bone clash there as Niswender blocks the leg kick.
Niswender throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice jab there from Marsden.
Marsden fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Niswender manages to avoid it.

Niswender gets caught flat footed, as Marsden shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Marsden drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Niswender dives on top into guard.
Marsden is trying to control the position but Niswender postures up.

Marsden looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Marsden not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Niswender avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Marsden looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Niswender has picked Marsden up and slammed him! Marsden can't keep hold of the triangle and Niswender manages to pass to side control!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Niswender has control of an arm but Marsden manages to advance to Niswender's back!

Marsden is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Niswender is defending well though. Marsden let's go of the attempt for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Marsden is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Niswender.
Sloppy strikes from Marsden. Those never looked like landing.
Roger Marsden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Niswender closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Marsden connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Niswender momentarily.

Marsden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Niswender swivels and escapes.

Marsden wants to control from the top but Niswender keeps moving.

Marsden postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Niswender is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Marsden, into his guard.

Marsden is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Niswender rolls with it to try and escape but Marsden cranks on the arm and Niswender is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roger Marsden!
