The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexander is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Alexander closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Martinez is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Martinez throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Martinez lands a nice leg kick that just misses Alexander's sensitive parts.

Martinez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alexander has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Alexander shoots in for a takedown but Martinez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
