PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sue Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the ring accompanied by A Boy Named Sue. The key to victory for Sue Carter has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson is looking to clinch but Carter is avoiding it.
Wilson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wilson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Carter works the jab nicely.

Wilson has managed to clinch.
Wilson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Carter is trying to break free.

Carter is fighting off a takedown attempt but Wilson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Carter to the mat. Carter regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Carter is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wilson is controlling him.
Wilson thows a big elbow that misses.
Carter wants to stand up but Wilson is controlling him.
Wilson looking to sit in guard and control but Carter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Carter wanted to stand there but Wilson had control of the position.
Wilson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Carter!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

BOOM! Wilson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carter really wants to buck Wilson off and get back to his feet.
Carter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carter tries to get out of the position.
Wilson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Carter can't escape the position.

Carter's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Carter tries to reverse the position but Wilson maintains control.

Wilson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Carter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wilson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wilson's back!

Carter tries to get the hooks in deep but Wilson pushed the leg off.
I really don't envy Wilson right now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Wilson rolls, trying to escape but Carter keeps control of the position.
Carter connects with a big shot to the side of Wilson's head.

That was a close round but I would say that Sue Carter will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Carter stalks Wilson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wilson's face. Wilson staggers backwards, shaken.

and Wilson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wilson.

Carter kicks Wilson off and gets to his feet.
Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Wilson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Wilson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Carter!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sue Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Wilson.

Wilson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carter is fending him off so far but Wilson persists. Nope, Carter circles away and we're back to standing.

Wilson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Carter looks a forlorn figure.

Carter avoids a strike by Wilson and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Wilson's guard! Fantastic escape!

Wilson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carter manages to get himself to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Carter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wilson.
Carter throws a combination. Wilson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Carter stuffs the takedown attempt from Wilson. Wilson gets slowly back to his feet.
Carter stalks Wilson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wilson's face. Wilson staggers backwards, shaken.

Wilson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Carter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wilson closes the distance and clinches up with Carter, looking for a takedown. Wilson pushes Carter against the ropes but Carter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wilson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Wilson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carter keeps working.
Wilson looks up at the clock and then as Carter takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Wilson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

And that's the end of the fight!
Nick Wilson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
