Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barb Dwyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shirley Crabtree Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Barb Dwyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Shirley Crabtree Jr!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Crabtree Jr drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Crabtree Jr wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dwyer, who protects the arm well.

Crabtree Jr decides to stand back up.
Crabtree Jr is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dwyer throws a combination that misses

and Crabtree Jr counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dwyer's guard now.
Crabtree Jr wanted to stand there but Dwyer had control of the position.

Dwyer looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Crabtree Jr passes into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Crabtree Jr postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dwyer to stand up.

and Crabtree Jr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dwyer won't be happy with that.

Dwyer connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Crabtree Jr momentarily.

Crabtree Jr has picked Dwyer up - he's going for a ride! Crabtree Jr dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Crabtree Jr tries to stand and escape but Dwyer is controlling the position.

Dwyer looking for subs from the bottom but Crabtree Jr mounts him!
Dwyer tries to reverse the position but Crabtree Jr maintains control.

Crabtree Jr stands up from mount. Strange move.
Crabtree Jr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dwyer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Crabtree Jr fails to land with a series of punches.
Dwyer throws a combination. Crabtree Jr tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Crabtree Jr shoots in looking for a takedown but Dwyer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Crabtree Jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dwyer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Shirley Crabtree Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Dwyer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dwyer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Dwyer gets caught flat footed, as Crabtree Jr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Crabtree Jr decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dwyer, up you get!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Crabtree Jr counters by moving into the clinch.
Crabtree Jr keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dwyer's efforts to push away.

Barb Dwyer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Crabtree Jr shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dwyer as he jumps to the side.

and Dwyer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dwyer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dwyer is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shirley Crabtree Jr dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Crabtree Jr counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dwyer!

Crabtree Jr is working for a guillotine from mount but Dwyer frees his head quite easily.

Crabtree Jr stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Dwyer moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Shirley Crabtree Jr has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Crabtree Jr counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Crabtree Jr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dwyer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crabtree Jr has managed to get both his arms back between Dwyer's legs - danger averted.

Dwyer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Crabtree Jr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dwyer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Crabtree Jr has managed to get both his arms back between Dwyer's legs - danger averted.

Crabtree Jr shoots for a double leg takedown but Dwyer sprawls well. He's pushed Crabtree Jr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Barb Dwyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shirley Crabtree Jr.
Dwyer throws a right hand that Crabtree Jr ducks under and follows up with a left that Crabtree Jr also avoids with ease.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Dwyer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Crabtree Jr circles away quickly and effectively.

Crabtree Jr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dwyer tries to avoid it but Crabtree Jr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dwyer to the ground. Dwyer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Dwyer throws a combination. Crabtree Jr tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Crabtree Jr tries to move into range but Dwyer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and Crabtree Jr counters with a single leg into guard. Dwyer didn't expect that.

Dwyer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Crabtree Jr defends well.

Dwyer has his foot on Crabtree Jr's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crabtree Jr works his way back into a safe position though.

Dwyer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dwyer is looking for a triangle but Crabtree Jr pushes his legs off easily.
Crabtree Jr has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dwyer is proving hard to escape from.

Dwyer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Crabtree Jr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Barb Dwyer showed his dominance in that final round.
