The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Christopher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Eccleston was covering up waiting for the punch and Christopher finishes the takedown easily into guard. Christopher got a little sloppy there for a moment and Eccleston has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Christopher has managed to get both his arms back between Eccleston's legs - danger averted. Eccleston wants to stand but Christopher is controlling the position. Eccleston is trying to keep Christopher in close.
Christopher trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Christopher stands up from guard. Let's bang! Eccleston closes the distance but Christopher moves to the side and Christopher finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Christopher shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Eccleston tries to hold on but Christopher pushes him away. Christopher sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Christopher looking to control but Eccleston is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christopher is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Eccleston can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Eccleston is wriggling around trying to escape.

Christopher wants to control the pace but Eccleston is squirming around nicely. Eccleston is looking to get to half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Eccleston sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Eccleston gets full guard. Christopher avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Eccleston has his foot on Christopher's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Christopher works his way back into a safe position though. Christopher drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Christopher jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Christopher is breathing heavily. Eccleston looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Eccleston had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Christopher defends it easily.

Eccleston has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Christopher can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Christopher is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Eccleston wants to sweep here but Christopher controlling him for the moment. Christopher gets to his feet. Eccleston looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Eccleston slips a jab and a cross from Christopher.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eccleston moves to clinch but Christopher breaks away and Christopher counters by moving into the clinch. Eccleston trying to land knees to the body.
Eccleston tries a knee to the head but Christopher blocks it.
Eccleston unloads a knee to the mid-section. Christopher lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Christopher pulls Eccleston into guard.
Christopher throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Eccleston drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Eccleston jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Christopher really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Christopher keeping full guard, as Eccleston tries to pass. Eccleston has gone for a leg lock! Christopher slips out almost immediately though and dives into Eccleston's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Eccleston is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Christopher has his hands clasped together but Eccleston extends an breaks Christopher's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Eccleston.
