Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mason's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, This is War. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nelson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Mason takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Mason darts in and clinches Nelson up against the cage.

Nelson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nelson swats away the attempt to clinch by Mason.
Mason tries to clinch up.
Mason wants to clinch up but Nelson keeps it at a distance.
Nelson throws a leg kick that is checked
and Mason counters with a head kick. That will keep Nelson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Nelson catches Mason with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Mason takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mason dodges the punch combination from Nelson.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mason looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mason tries to close the distance and clinch but Nelson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Nelson throws a right and a left that Mason avoids nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nelson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mason has time to react.
Nelson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Mason doesn't manage to clinch there - Nelson circles away.
Nelson lunges at Mason with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mason's hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nelson lands with a shot to the body.
A decent looking cross lands there for Nelson.


Mason is rocked!
Mason on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Oh Mason is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nelson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mason has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mason and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mason seems to have got his legs back now.
Nelson thuds his right hand into Mason's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Mason wants to clinch.
Nelson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mason moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mason is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nelson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mason shoots in but Nelson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Mason shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Nelson throws out a leg kick but Mason moves out of range and Nelson only half commits.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Mason has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Nelson finds it's way round the side to connect with Mason's head.
Nelson closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Danga de danga de dang - Nelson scores with a four punch combination!
Mason tries to clinch but Nelson moves out of range.
Nelson works the jab nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mason looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Mason with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nelson to score with a decent uppercut.

Nelson throws a solid leg kick but Mason takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Nelson.

Good leg kick by Nelson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
George Nelson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Nelson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nelson drops Mason with a beautiful combination! Mason stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nelson is looking for the KO!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nelson throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Mason colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Nelson as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Mason is left battered and dazed whilst Nelson and his camp cheer!
