The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Quirke lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Jimmy Karlsson has been cut.
Quirke swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Horrible takedown by Karlsson or perhaps it was just good defense by Quirke which made him look bad.
Marcus Quirke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karlsson throws a series of punches but Quirke avoids them all with ease.
A looping hook to the body misses from Quirke. Karlsson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Quirke throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Quirke throws a looping overhand right but Karlsson ducks down to avoid it.
Quirke connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Quirke scores with a body shot.
Karlsson is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Quirke sends Karlsson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Quirke is motioning to the referee to let Karlsson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Karlsson is rocked!
A looping hook to the body misses from Quirke. Karlsson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Oh Karlsson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
BOOM! Quirke lands a beautiful left hook that drops Karlsson. Karlsson tries to recover but Quirke is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Karlsson lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcus Quirke!
