Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raymon Dorh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodolpho Vasquel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dorh might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Quiet Dog Bite Hard. Vasquel has chosen Surviving the Times as his entrance music. 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodolpho Vasquel! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dorh with a jab.
It looks like Rodolpho Vasquel has been cut. A low kick from Vasquel misses and Dorh cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Vasquel misses with an uppercut. Dorh saw that one coming. Vasquel throws a nice head kick!
Sloppy strikes from Dorh. Those never looked like landing. Vasquel avoids a punch combination nicely.

Dorh throws a combination that misses and Vasquel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A telegraphed right hand from Vasquel misses the target. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Dorh misses the body punch and Vasquel counters with a three punch combo that has Dorh backing up. Dorh nods at Vasquel to acknowledge the strikes. Vasquel throws a shot from downtown. Dorh moves away and avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasquel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dorh avoids it really well and circles away. Dorh dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Dorh throws a left and a right that both miss
and Vasquel counters with a three punch combo that has Dorh backing up. Dorh nods at Vasquel to acknowledge the strikes. Vasquel takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Vasquel fails with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dorh misses with a combination
and Vasquel counters with a left and a right that stings Dorh. Vasquel throws a series of punches but Dorh avoids them all with ease. Dorh throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dorh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vasquel. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dorh takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Vasquel misses with a double jab
and Dorh cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Vasquel counters with a takedown into side control. Vasquel cracks Dorh with an elbow. That is naaassty. Vasquel tries to score with some ground and pound. Dorh controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Vasquel grinds an elbow into Dorh's temple. Vasquel lands a decent elbow from side control. The strikes coming from Vasquel are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Vasquel lands a few punches from side control. Dorh wants to control but Vasquel postures up. Vasquel misses with the ground and pound. Dorh defending against the ground and pound. Vasquel is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dorh is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dorh is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Vasquel works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Vasquel throws a strike aimed at the side of Dorh's head but Dorh avoids it well. Dorh is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vasquel asserts his dominance and retains side control. Vasquel is chipping away with strikes.
Dorh knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vasquel on the ground. Dorh on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Vasquel throws a strike aimed at the side of Dorh's head but Dorh avoids it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dorh is looking to reverse the position. Vasquel in side control lands a decent elbow. Dorh avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Vasquel. Dorh is looking for a sweep. Vasquel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dorh, who protects the arm well. Dorh defending against the ground and pound. Dorh is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vasquel asserts his dominance and retains side control. Vasquel throws an elbow but Dorh slips to the side and avoids it well. Vasquel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Vasquel is chipping away with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasquel tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Dorh can't do much from the bottom here. Vasquel tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Dorh managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Vasquel.
Vasquel creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Dorh is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Vasquel throws a strike aimed at the side of Dorh's head but Dorh avoids it well. Vasquel lands a decent elbow from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasquel working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Vasquel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Vasquel is breathing heavily.

Dorh is looking to take a break and control but Vasquel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Vasquel is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dorh clobbers Vasquel with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Dorh throws out a loose jab but Vasquel uses good head movement to avoid it.

Dorh throws a right and a left that Vasquel avoids nicely. Vasquel fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dorh on the side of the head. Vasquel rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Vasquel counters with a takedown into side control. Dorh tries to escape but Vasquel is in control. Vasquel throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dorh is trying to buck Vasquel off. Vasquel goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dorh rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Vasquel's guard! Nice work there by Dorh! Vasquel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dorh defends it easily. Dorh trying to stand up but can't free himself from Vasquel's guard. Dorh trying to control but Vasquel is working from the bottom. Vasquel looking for a sweep. Not yet Vasquel, not yet. Vasquel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Vasquel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasquel is looking for a triangle but Dorh pushes his legs off easily.
Dorh wants to stand but Vasquel has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dorh throwing strikes from guard but Vasquel blocks nicely. Dorh stands up from Vasquel's guard - Dorh perhaps looking for a knockout. Vasquel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dorh throws out a powerful jab.
That has opened up Rodolpho Vasquel's cut even more. Vasquel throws a low kick but Dorh moves out of range easily. Vasquel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dorh counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Vasquel takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A swing and a miss from Dorh. Dorh throws a sloppy body shot
so Vasquel counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Raymon Dorh. I think Dorh has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
