Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jessie Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Russel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Russel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jessie Knight! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Russel! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knight feints and as Russel raises his hands in defense, Knight changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Knight wants to stand but Russel has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Knight sitting in guard, not really doing much. Russel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Russel keeping moving, preventing Knight from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Knight is looking to work some ground and pound but Russel has wrist control. Knight trying to control but Russel is working from the bottom. Russel throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Knight uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Russel. Knight tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Russel looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Russel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Horrible takedown by Knight or perhaps it was just good defense by Russel which made him look bad. A punch combination from Russel misses. Russel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Knight avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Knight looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Russel! Knight tries to control but Russel wriggling away. Russel is trying to escape the mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Knight with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Russel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Russel wants to hold on but Knight pushes him away. Russel looks gassed! Russel prevents Knight from taking his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Russel is working to get back to half guard.
Knight stands up from mount. Strange move. Russel keeps the fight on the outside. Jack Russel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Knight closes the distance and clinches up with Russel, looking for a takedown. Knight pushes Russel against the cage but Russel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Russel throws a nice looking combination but Knight bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Russel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Knight moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Russel gets caught flat footed, as Knight shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Knight wants to stand but Russel has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Knight trying to move into half guard but instead Russel has managed to sweep! Russel looking to pass the guard. Knight is looking for a triangle but Russel pushes his legs off easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Knight is on top in guard.
Knight loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Knight passes into half guard. Knight looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jessie Knight dominated that round. That's time! Knight's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Knight decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Knight trying to control the action but Russel is working from the bottom. Knight passes to full mount! Knight jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Russel is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Russel and Knight has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Knight decides to stand up, so the ref orders Russel to his feet. Knight shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Russel pinned against the cage. Russel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Russel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Knight drops back, looking for a kneebar! Russel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Russel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Russel! Knight tries to get back to half guard but can't. Knight is being controlled here. Russel is looking to take a break and control but Knight is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Knight tries to bench press Russel off him but Russel keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knight is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Russel has just dragged him back down to the mat. Russel lands some shots froms side control. Knight is working to avoid the ground and pound but Russel connects with a decent elbow. Knight tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Russel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Knight trying to remain calm as Russel controls from the top position. Knight sneaks out the side door and pushes Russel away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Jack Russel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Knight avoids a kick to the body.
Knight tries to clinch but Russel moves out of range. Knight feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Knight stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Russel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Russel keeping moving, preventing Knight from controlling successfully. That's four minutes gone in the round. Knight sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Russel can't escape the position.
Knight is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Russel is surviving well by controlling Knight's body position as best he can. Knight throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Russel because Knight loaded up on that one. Knight has control of Russel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Russel regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Knight misses with a head shot. Knight fails to move to back control. Knight can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Russel is looking to escape. Knight stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Knight is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Knight closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Knight decides to stand back up. Knight steps back and let's Russel get back to his feet. Russel finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Knight controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Knight passes into half guard. Knight wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Knight trying to control from half guard but Russel is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Russel to get to his feet. No joy there for Russel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Russel misses with an uppercut. Knight saw that one coming. Russel throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Russel throws a right and a left that Knight avoids nicely. Russel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Russel! This one is all over!
