Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norifumi Murakami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Tatsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norifumi Murakami has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Norifumi Murakami!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshi Tatsu!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murakami throws a body kick that misses.
Tatsu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Murakami tries to avoid it but Tatsu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Murakami to the ground. Murakami escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Murakami tries to clinch but Tatsu moves out of range.

Murakami gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tatsu to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Murakami has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Tatsu off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Murakami throws a combination that misses

and Tatsu counters with a single leg into guard. Murakami didn't expect that.
Tatsu wants to pass the guard but Murakami is keeping the position.
Tatsu stops Murakami from standing up.
Murakami is trying to keep Tatsu in close.
Murakami is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tatsu is controlling him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Tatsu is taking a breather. Murakami says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Yoshi Tatsu has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Norifumi Murakami has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshi Tatsu.
Murakami throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tatsu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Murakami was well out of range. Poor timing from Tatsu.

Tatsu moves into the clinch.
Murakami tries for a takedown. No joy.

Tatsu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tatsu.
Tatsu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Murakami sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Murakami is breathing heavily.
Tatsu blocks a head kick by Murakami.
Tatsu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Murakami as he jumps to the side.
Tatsu fails with the takedown.

Murakami takes the fight into the clinch.
Murakami wants a takedown but no success here.
Tatsu taking a breather.
Tatsu tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Murakami doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Tatsu trying to land knees to the body.

Murakami's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tatsu wants to clinch but Murakami slips to the side
and Murakami counters with a head kick.
Murakami throws a series of punches but Tatsu moves out of range.
Murakami throws a sloppy head kick and Tatsu moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yoshi Tatsu dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Tatsu tries to close the distance and clinch but Murakami swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Murakami gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tatsu is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Tatsu tries to free his leg and advance position but Murakami is retaining full guard.
Tatsu is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Murakami is working an open guard so Tatsu takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Tatsu moves into the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Murakami is looking to break free of the clinch but Tatsu has double underhooks.
Murakami is looking to control Tatsu's arms but Tatsu gets an underhook and turns him. Now Murakami has his back to the cage.
Tatsu drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tatsu is trying to maintain a safe position but Murakami gets an underhook and turns Tatsu into the cage.
Murakami tries to pull guard but Tatsu won't allow it.

Murakami tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tatsu jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Murakami walks away with a smile on his face. Tatsu gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Murakami leaves Tatsu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tatsu shoots in for a takedown but Murakami shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Tatsu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Murakami to the mat! Murakami manages to get full guard.

Murakami controls Tatsu momentarily but Tatsu frees himself.

Murakami can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tatsu controls the pace.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Yoshi Tatsu wasn't active enough on the ground.
Tatsu fails to land the takedown.

Murakami throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Murakami shoots and misses

so Tatsu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Murakami looking to control.
Tatsu passes Murakami's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Murakami wants to get back to his feet.

Tatsu is working for a submission of some sort.
Murakami pushes Tatsu off looking to stand but Tatsu dives back in and keeps control.
Murakami on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Murakami tries to get out of the position.

Tatsu is looking for a kimura but Murakami is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tatsu to get the leverage.

Yoshi Tatsu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Murakami's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Tatsu misses with a series of wild punches.
Norifumi Murakami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tatsu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Murakami circles away.

Tatsu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Tatsu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Tatsu is in close to Murakami's body, working some short punches and elbows.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Yoshi Tatsu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Tatsu darts in and clinches Murakami up against the cage.
Tatsu changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Murakami fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Tatsu closes the distance and pushes Murakami back into the cage.

Tatsu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Murakami uses from the top position.
Murakami stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tatsu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

I've got Tatsu winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
