The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman throws a combination that misses
and Roman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Roman counters with a low kick, right behind Bykov 's knee.

Roman kicks off Bykov and gets to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bykov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Roman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bykov is controlling him.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Roman is on top in guard.

Roman is trying to control the action in half guard but Bykov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Roman winds up and cracks Bykov with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bykov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Roman decides to stand and escape the position.

Bykov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roman sprawls well. Roman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bykov gets slowly back to his feet.

and Bykov counters with a three punch combo that has Roman backing up. Roman nods at Bykov to acknowledge the strikes.

Roman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bykov doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Roman counters by clinching up.

Roman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Roman throws a powerful right kick. Bykov tried to block low but the kick was high! Bykov was taken right off of his feet! Roman jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
