Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Rendler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Rendler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcus Jones! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rendler swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jones fails to land with a series of punches.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rendler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Rendler wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely. A nice elbow there by Rendler. Jones squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Rendler landing strikes, looking to finish! Rendler has control of Jones's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jones regains control of the situation pretty easily.
A nice elbow there by Rendler. Rendler goes for an armbar but Jones turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Jones. Rendler might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rendler looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.
Rendler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rendler keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones stopping the sweep attempt from Rendler. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rendler working a defensive guard here.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break Rendler's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Rendler wants to improve his position but instead Jones has moved into half guard.
Rendler is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back! Jones prevents Rendler from getting a body triangle. Rendler looking for the RNC. Jones holding both Rendler 's hands and preventing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones trying to control the position but Rendler manages to sink in the hooks. Rendler scores with punches and elbows. Rendler seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Jones's chin but Jones turns very nicely into Rendler's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Jones.
Rendler is breathing heavily. Rendler preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Rendler looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rendler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rendler keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones wants to get up but he can't break Rendler's closed guard. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Rendler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rendler looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rendler manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones is working an open guard so Rendler takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Some wild striking there from Rendler.
Rendler swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Jones is looking to clinch but Rendler is avoiding it.
Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Rendler holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rendler takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Rendler has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment. Still in the clinch, Jones scores with a nice short uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rendler is trying to break the clinch but Jones has him pressed against the cage. Rendler unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jones lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Jones gets underhooks to prevent Rendler's takedown attempt.
Rendler tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jones lands a nice elbow from the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Rendler dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones checks a leg kick nicely. Jones lands with a kick to the temple. Rendler shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Jack Rendler has been cut. A punch combination from Rendler misses. Rendler circles away from the clinch attempt and Rendler counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rendler. Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No joy there for Rendler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones wants to clinch and Rendler counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard. Rendler controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Rendler wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Rendler throws a big right hand that misses. Rendler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rendler is stalling in the full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones pushes Rendler off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Rendler falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rendler is lucky that one didn't land flush. Rendler pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Rendler taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Jones on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Jones is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rendler is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks. Jones breaks from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rendler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rendler darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage. A short left from Jones. Rendler tries to score a body lock takedown but Jones shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Rendler is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Jones blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rendler closes the distance and clinches. Rendler is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rendler wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rendler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rendler wants to take a breather but Jones manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Rendler. Jones keeping moving, preventing Rendler from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rendler looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rendler wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jones postures up in Rendler's guard and throws a big left but Rendler blocks it. Rendler lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones! Rendler is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jones can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rendler looking to finish Jones with some ground and pound. This is bad for Jones! Jones defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Rendler.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rendler wants to control the pace but Jones is squirming around nicely. Rendler working for a guillotine from mount but Jones is in no mood to give up. Rendler looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rendler scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jones?
Rendler trying to control but he's not successful this time. Rendler jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rendler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. Rendler stands up and beckons Jones to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones scores with a kick to the midsection. Jack Rendler is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rendler fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage. A bit of stalling here from Rendler.
Rendler jumps guard but Jones stands there with Rendler around his waist. Rendler gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jones lands a shot to the body. Jones keeps control of Rendler as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Rendler looking for a takedown. Rendler wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Rendler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rendler wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rendler is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Rendler managing to block the knees to the body from Jones.
Jones prevents a body shot from Rendler. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rendler is working for takedown but Jones is calmly controlling the position for now. Jones breaks from the clinch.
Jones has his takedown stuffed and Rendler counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rendler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones has his hands on Rendler's head, controlling the position. Rendler trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rendler with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rendler looking to pass the guard. Rendler has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jones is proving hard to escape from. Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jones can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rendler controls the pace.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Nice uppercut lands for Rendler. That snapped Jones's head back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rendler drives through with a takedown into guard. Rendler works a leg free and moves into half guard. Rendler in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jones tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Rendler!
