Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Noah Kongo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Spencer! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kongo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spencer circles away from the clinch attempt and Spencer counters with a right hand that sends Kongo tumbling to the canvas! Can Spencer finish him? He dives into Kongo's guard looking to do just that!
It looks like Noah Kongo has been cut. Spencer being controlled here momentarily. Kongo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kongo tries to get out of the position. Spencer looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Spencer trying to control but Kongo is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kongo throws a quick inside leg kick. Kongo closes the distance looking to clinch and Spencer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kongo throws a head kick that misses. Spencer misses with a takedown attempt and Kongo counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kongo is looking to clinch but Spencer is avoiding it.
Spencer with a lazy takedown attempt and Kongo moves into the clinch. Spencer looks gassed! Spencer has picked Kongo up - he's going for a ride! Spencer dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Kongo trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kongo wants to improve his position but Spencer is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kongo looking for submissions off his back. Kongo trying to hold on to Spencer's head to control him but Spencer postures up.
Spencer not doing much here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kongo pushes Spencer off and gets back to his feet. Kongo gets the takedown into side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spencer being controlled for a moment. Kongo works to advance to full mount. Spencer defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kongo shoots and misses and Spencer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kongo's guard. Spencer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kongo is keeping the position for now. Kongo wants to stand but Spencer is controlling the position. Spencer trying to control the position from guard on top but Kongo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Spencer stopping the sweep attempt from Kongo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kongo trying to keep a closed guard but Spencer is proving a slippery customer.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Noah Kongo wasn't doing enough on the ground. Kongo misses with a takedown attempt and Spencer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kongo's guard now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spencer wants to pass the guard but Kongo is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kongo looking to control.
Kongo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Spencer's guard. Kongo trying to control but Spencer is working from the bottom. Kongo tries to free his leg and advance position but Spencer is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kongo trying to control the position from guard on top but Spencer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We're going to have a standup here because Noah Kongo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Kongo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Spencer keeping moving, preventing Kongo from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kongo throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kongo wants to stand and escape but instead Spencer has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Kongo controls Spencer momentarily but Spencer frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Spencer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Noah Kongo's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Spencer gets tackled into the cage by Kongo. Kongo maintains the clinch. Kongo can't break the clinch.
Kongo tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Spencer can't get the takedown.
Kongo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kongo wants to improve his position but instead Spencer has moved into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spencer wants to pass to mount but Kongo is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Kongo manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kongo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kongo working a defensive guard here.
Kongo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Spencer is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Spencer preventing the sweep. Kongo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Spencer defends it easily. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Spencer stops Kongo from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kongo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Spencer is working to get back to half guard.
Kongo is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Spencer has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Spencer! Spencer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spencer pushing down on Kongo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Kongo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Spencer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Spencer's back! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kongo wants to control but Spencer is keeping busy.
And that's the end of the fight! Noah Kongo showed his dominance in that final round. I think Spencer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
