Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyrstyof Soshykski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Lefleur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kyrstyof Soshykski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Lefleur!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soshykski drives through with a takedown into guard.
Soshykski looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Lefleur controls Soshykski momentarily but Soshykski frees himself.

Lefleur is looking for a triangle but Soshykski pushes his legs off easily.
Soshykski stops Lefleur from standing up.

Lefleur escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Soshykski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soshykski wants to get up but he can't break Lefleur's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lefleur is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Soshykski dives into side control.
Lefleur gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Lefleur is looking for a sweep. Soshykski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lefleur is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Soshykski trying to control the action but Lefleur is working from the bottom.
Lefleur wants to control but Soshykski is keeping busy.
Lefleur pushes Soshykski off looking to stand but Soshykski dives back in and keeps control.
Lefleur is trying to maintain the position but Soshykski is very close to passing his half guard.
Soshykski is looking to take a break and control but Lefleur is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lefleur wants to clinch but Soshykski slips to the side

and Soshykski counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The fighters are battling for position here. Lefleur manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Soshykski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lefleur is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lefleur looking to hit a scissor sweep but Soshykski is one step ahead there.

Lefleur looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lefleur throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lefleur is on top in guard.
Lefleur sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Soshykski's guard.

Lefleur wants to work for an arm triangle but Soshykski is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Lefleur lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Soshykski throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lefleur tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Soshykski is in Lefleur's guard.
Lefleur wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Lefleur lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Soshykski!
Soshykski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lefleur on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Soshykski stops Lefleur from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Lefleur is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Soshykski has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lefleur manages to capitalize on a mistake by Soshykski to take his back!
Lefleur misses with an elbow to the head.
A lull in the action here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Soshykski takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Lefleur is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Peter Lefleur showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Lefleur tries to score a power double leg takedown but Soshykski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lefleur somewhat.
Lefleur lands a nice leg kick that just misses Soshykski's sensitive parts.

Kyrstyof Soshykski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soshykski defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lefleur.
Kyrstyof Soshykski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Lefleur.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soshykski misses with a body punch
and Lefleur counters with a big head kick but Soshykski shrugs it off.
Nice takedown defense from Soshykski. No joy for Lefleur on that attempt.

Soshykski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lefleur avoids it really well and circles away.
Soshykski takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Soshykski shoots for a double leg takedown but Lefleur sprawls well. He's pushed Soshykski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lefleur working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Soshykski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Soshykski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lefleur controls Soshykski momentarily but Soshykski frees himself.

Kyrstyof Soshykski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Soshykski won't allow Lefleur to sweep him here.
Soshykskiis looking to pass into half guard but Lefleur pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lefleur is in guard.

Lefleur stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Soshykski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lefleur decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Soshykski, up you get!
Lefleur misses with a takedown attempt - Soshykski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Soshykski decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lefleur's guard.
Soshykski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lefleur is proving hard to escape from.
