Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DeAngelo White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Headstrong. DeAngelo White had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeAngelo White! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mathew Davidson! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davidson misses with a takedown and White connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mathew Davidson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davidson fails in his attempt to clinch. White looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Davidson is fending him off so far but White persists. Nope, Davidson circles away and we're back to standing. White drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davidson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by White.
Davidson parries the strikes from White easily there. White is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Davidson to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. White working the ground and pound from side control. White is trying to ground and pound but Davidson uses the momentary lack of control by White to regain half guard. White missing with the ground and pound from half guard. White looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Davidson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on White, up you get! Davidson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of White's head. Davidson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Davidson wants it to stay on the feet. Davidson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A decent looking body kick lands there for Davidson. A slapping body kick lands there for Davidson. Davidson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and White counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Davidson's guard now. White has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. White throws and elbow that misses. Davidson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in White's guard. Nice move by Davidson!

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. White connects with a nice short shot to Davidson's temple. White prevents Davidson from standing back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Davidson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Davidson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Mathew Davidson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. White throwing strikes but Davidson manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Davidson is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Davidson stands up and beckons White to his feet. White fails with an attempt to clinch.
DeAngelo White has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Davidson lands a head kick. White smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to DeAngelo White. I think Davidson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
