PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pool Loop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock comes to the cage accompanied by One Winged Angel. Pool Loop told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Shamrock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Pool Loop!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Loop tries to avoid it but Shamrock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Loop to the ground. Loop escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Loop throws the left hand but Shamrock avoids the punch easily.
Shamrock closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Loop throws out a loose jab but Shamrock uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shamrock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Loop as he avoids it easily.
Loop keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


Shamrock is rocked!
Shamrock fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Oh Shamrock is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Shamrock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shamrock shoots for a takedown but Loop saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Shamrock moves away from the strike by Loop.
Shamrock will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Shamrock avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Shamrock displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Loop throws out the jab.
Shamrock seems to have got his legs back now.

Shamrock shoots in and drives through. Loop sprawls well.
Shamrock moves out of range of the strikes.
Shamrock looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Loop is fending him off so far but Shamrock persists. Nope, Loop circles away and we're back to standing.
Pool Loop is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shamrock moves away from the strike by Loop.
Loop is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shamrock.
Shamrock shoots in for a double leg but Loop sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Loop is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Shamrock is breathing heavily.
Loop misses with a looping right.
Shamrock moves away from the strike by Loop.
Shamrock walks into a straight right hand from Loop.
Shamrock shoots in for a double leg but Loop sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Loop throws a hook to the side of Shamrock's head but Shamrock sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Pool Loop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Loop misses with a looping right.
Loop throws a big shot that misses.
Shamrock moves out of range of the strikes.

The fighters circling - Loop throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Loop misses with an uppercut. Shamrock saw that one coming.
Shamrock bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Loop with a hook.
Nice takedown defense from Loop. No joy for Shamrock on that attempt.

Loop is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Loop throws a hook but Shamrock blocks it.
Loop connects with a single shot there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shamrock.
Shamrock ducks right into an uppercut from Loop.
Shamrock shoots in but no luck this time.

Shamrock shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shamrock showed some decent athleticism there.
Shamrock passes to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Shamrock has an Americana. Loop didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Shamrock is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Shamrock hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nick Shamrock!
