Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Phil French!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Beter Puckley!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puckley throws a looping overhand right but French ducks down to avoid it.
Puckley circles away from the clinch attempt.
Puckley misses with a left hand
and French counters with a head kick.
French ducks under a wild hook from Puckley.
Beter Puckley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Puckley lands with a cross.


It looks like Phil French has been cut.
Puckley misses with a lunging right hand
and French counters with a head kick.
Puckley misses with an uppercut

and French counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Puckley keeping moving, preventing French from controlling successfully.
Puckley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Puckley has a closed guard, preventing French from standing up.
French trying to control the position from guard on top but Puckley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Puckley is looking to stand up but French isn't so interested in that idea.
French would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Phil French just wasn't active enough.
French throws the kick towards the body but Puckley avoids it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Puckley working hard to break the clinch.
Puckley is looking to break free of the clinch but French has double underhooks.
French keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Puckley's efforts to push away.
French is trying to maintain a safe position but Puckley gets an underhook and turns French into the cage.
French tries to pull guard but Puckley holds him up against the cage and eventually French drops back down to his feet.

Puckley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Puckley throws the left hand but French avoids the punch easily.
Puckley loads up on a big right hand but French slips the punch.
The crowd cheers as Puckley lands an impressive looking overhand right. French doesn't seem phased though.
French moves out of range as Puckley strikes.
Puckley throws the left hand but French avoids the punch easily.
Puckley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
French changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Puckley tries to avoid it but French manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Puckley to the ground. Puckley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
French moves away from the strike by Puckley.
Puckley looks to clinch

and French counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Puckley's guard now.
French tries to free his leg and advance position but Puckley is retaining full guard.

Puckley has his feet on French's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A telegraphed right hand from Puckley misses the target.
Puckley throws a lazy uppercut
and French cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Puckley is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
French tries to clinch but Puckley is having none of it.
French just misses with a punch to the body.
Horrible takedown by French or perhaps it was just good defense by Puckley which made him look bad.

French is breathing heavily.

Puckley throws a hook to the side of French's head but French sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The fighters circling - Puckley throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and French counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Puckley throws the left hand but French avoids the punch easily.
Puckley fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but French is out of range.
Puckley throws a poor cross that misses
and French counters with a three punch combo that has Puckley backing up. Puckley nods at French to acknowledge the strikes.
Puckley jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Puckley misses with a right hand
and French counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Puckley throws a lazy right hand but French sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Puckley swats away the attempt to clinch by French.
Beter Puckley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
French plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Puckley blocks the body kick.
Puckley throws a hook but French blocks it.
French throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
French tries to close the distance and clinch up but Puckley swats him away and circles back towards the center.

French instigates a clinch.
Puckley avoiding damage as French throws knees to the body.
Puckley gets underhooks to prevent French's takedown attempt.

Puckley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
French gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Good exchange - Puckley coming out on top.
French fails with a takedown attempt.
Puckley missing with a left hand there. French was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

French tries to land a front kick but Puckley steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Puckley connects with a crisp jab.
French moves away from the strike by Puckley.
French moves out of range of the strikes.

Puckley drops his shoulder and cracks French with a huge uppercut! French goes down! Can Puckley finish him?


French is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Puckley stands and steps away. French gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oh French is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big left from Puckley misses.
Puckley cracks French with a hook to the temple - French is on wobbly legs here! Puckley swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! French falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Puckley wins by TKO!
