Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Conner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Piotr Rasputin!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conner misses with a takedown attempt - Rasputin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rasputin slaps away a takedown attempt from Conner, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Conner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rasputin.
No luck for Conner with that takedown attempt.

Conner takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Rasputin looks to land a combination but Conner avoids it well.
Rasputin throws a series of punches but Conner avoids them all with ease.
Rasputin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Rasputin moves out of range of the leg kick from Conner.
Conner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Rasputin to counter with a crisp jab.


It looks like John Conner has been cut.
Conner is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rasputin moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Conner goes down! Can Rasputin finish him!?
Rasputin wants to stand and escape but instead Conner has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rasputin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Conner is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Conner trying to control but Rasputin is working from the bottom.
Conner lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Conner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Conner is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Conner wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Rasputin counters with a nice body shot.
Rasputin throws a right hand that Conner ducks under and follows up with a left that Conner also avoids with ease.
Piotr Rasputin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rasputin throws a right and a left that Conner avoids nicely.

Conner shoots for a takedown but Rasputin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rasputin works over Conner's head and body with a nice combination.
Rasputin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rasputin throws a series of punches but Conner moves out of range.
Rasputin misses with a double jab.
Piotr Rasputin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rasputin throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rasputin lands a jab to the head.
Conner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Conner takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rasputin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rasputin.


John Conner's cut is getting worse.
Rasputin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Conner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rasputin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rasputin wants to get back to his feet.
Conner throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The strikes coming from Conner are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Rasputin dodges the ground and pound from Conner.
Conner in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rasputin parries the strikes from Conner easily there. Conner is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rasputin to escape.
Conner is looking to take a break and control but Rasputin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rasputin is being controlled here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piotr Rasputin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Conner's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Conner tries for a takedown but Rasputin circles away easily
and Rasputin counters with a left and a right that stings Conner.
Conner dives in and grabs Rasputin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rasputin pushes down on Conner's head and hops out.
Conner looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The crowd cheers as Rasputin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Conner doesn't seem phased though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Conner shoots and misses
and Rasputin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Conner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Rasputin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Conner is rocked!
Rasputin lands a nice shot that snaps Conner's head back.
Oh Conner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rasputin connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Conner covering up! Rasputin comes in with a big uppercut and Conner goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Piotr Rasputin!
