Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PIotrek Piter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Chuck Mendez has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chuck Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, PIotrek Piter!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Mendez. Piter does a little dance to reset his feet.
Chuck Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Piter tries to sprawl but Mendez drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Mendez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mendez is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Piter reverses the position - he's now on top in Mendez's guard.

Piter stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mendez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like PIotrek Piter has been cut.

Mendez throws a lazy head kick
and Piter counters with a straight right hand.

Mendez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Piter wants to control but Mendez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
It looks like Mendez is going to stand back up.
Mendez prevents Piter from improving his position.
Piter gets full guard.
Mendez could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mendez trying to control the position from guard on top but Piter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Piter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mendez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mendez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Piter manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Piter wants to finish this one by submission but Mendez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Piter.

Mendez is looking to improve his position but Piter isn't that keen on the idea.

Piter is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mendez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Mendez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Mendez is breathing heavily.
Mendez tries to hold on but Piter postures up.
Piter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mendez's face.
Mendez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mendez tries to get out of the position.

Mendez tries to control the position but Piter now has his back.

I really don't envy Mendez right now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Piter struggling to keep hold of the position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Piter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mendez is fending him off so far but Piter persists. Nope, Mendez circles away and we're back to standing.
Mendez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Piter.

Mendez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Piter is trying to defend but Mendez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Piter regains full guard. Nicely done.
Piter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mendez's guard.
Mendez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Piter on the ground.

Piter is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Piter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Mendez wants to stand up but Piter is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by PIotrek Piter.

Mendez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mendez wants it to stay on the feet.

Piter regains full guard. Nicely done.

Piter has his foot on Mendez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mendez works his way back into a safe position though.

Piter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mendez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Piter. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Mendez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Piter manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Mendez stuffs the takedown attempt from Piter. Piter gets slowly back to his feet.
Chuck Mendez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of PIotrek Piter.

Piter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mendez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Piter is in Mendez's guard.

Mendez is trying to control the position but Piter postures up.

Piter stands up and waves to Mendez to follow him.

Mendez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Piter did well to prevent Mendez getting side control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Piter manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Piter is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Mendez frees his head nicely. Oh but Piter has switched to an armbar! Mendez is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
