Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Indy Sangha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jessy Ventura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Indy Sangha has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Indy Sangha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jessy Ventura!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sangha just misses with a punch to the body.
Sangha avoids the body shot from Ventura.
Sangha plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


Ventura is rocked!

Sangha shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sangha showed some decent athleticism there.
Ventura is still in real trouble! Can Sangha finish him?
Ventura is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sangha scores with a couple of nice shots.

Sangha decides to return to a standing position.

Sangha bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sangha really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ventura is trying to improve his position.

Sangha decides to stand back up. Sangha steps back and let's Ventura get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ventura darts in and clinches Sangha up against the cage.
Ventura seems to have recovered his senses.
Sangha is looking to break free of the clinch but Ventura has double underhooks.
Ventura scores with a nice hook to the head.
Ventura has Sangha pushed against the cage.
Ventura looks gassed!
Ventura wants a takedown.

Sangha tries for a takedown but Ventura manages to get underhooks.
Ventura fails to pull guard.
Sangha tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ventura just stands there and leans against the cage.

Indy Sangha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jessy Ventura.
Ventura tries to land knees in the clinch but Sangha avoids the damage to the body.

Nice sprawl there from Ventura as Sangha shoots in.
Sangha misses with a takedown attempt - Ventura sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sangha tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Ventura fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sangha sprawls well initially but Ventura persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ventura decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sangha, up you get!
Sangha shoots in for a double leg but Ventura sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ventura keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sangha's head.
Ventura is stalling in the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sangha can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ventura controls the pace.
Ventura wants to pass the guard but Sangha is keeping the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sangha wants to get back to his feet but Ventura is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ventura is fighting to break Sangha's control of his arms but Sangha is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Ventura trying to control the position from guard on top but Sangha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sangha manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ventura manages to get himself to full guard.

Sangha decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sangha shoots and misses

and Ventura counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ventura.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sangha takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Indy Sangha dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Ventura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sangha's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Ventura avoids the head kick by Sangha.
Sangha keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sangha misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sangha shoots in but no luck this time.

Ventura clinches with his opponent.

Ventura gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Sangha is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ventura pulls his head out easily.
Ventura is looking to advance position but Sangha won't allow it.

Sangha works his way to full guard. Good work.
Sangha looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Sangha is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sangha has his feet on Ventura's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Ventura wants to clinch up but Sangha keeps it at a distance.

and Ventura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sangha won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sangha is looking to reverse the position.
Sangha is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ventura is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Sangha is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sangha wants to hold on but Ventura pushes him away.
Sangha is desperately trying to improve his position but Ventura has a good base and remains in mount.
Ventura lands a heavy elbow.

Jessy Ventura showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Sangha's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Sangha closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ventura circles away.
Ventura stuffs the takedown attempt from Sangha. Sangha gets slowly back to his feet.
Sangha avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ventura misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Sangha shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ventura pinned against the cage. Ventura gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Indy Sangha. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ventura takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Sangha scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Ventura has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sangha is working away from the top position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ventura is refusing to be controlled, as Sangha sits in half guard.

Sangha doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ventura counters with a single leg into guard. Sangha didn't expect that.

Sangha looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Sangha controls Ventura momentarily but Ventura frees himself.
Sangha looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Sangha working for a triangle but Ventura defends it easily.
Sangha is controlling Ventura's posture.

Sangha is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Ventura jumps guard but Sangha stands there with Ventura around his waist. Ventura gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sangha on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sangha tries for a takedown. No joy.

Ventura breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Ventura moves into the clinch.
Sangha tries a body shot but Ventura blocks it.
Ventura prevents a takedown attempt there.

Sangha closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ventura to the mat! Ventura manages to get full guard.

Ventura working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Sangha has passed into half guard!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Ventura kicks Sangha off and gets back to his feet.

Ventura bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ventura is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sangha has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sangha tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ventura wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ventura looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Ventura decides to stand back up. Ventura steps back and let's Sangha get back to his feet.
Indy Sangha is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ventura clinches up with Sangha and pushes him back against the cage.
Sangha tries to score a body lock takedown but Ventura shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Ventura turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ventura manages to end up in side control.
Ventura prevents Sangha from escaping the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jessy Ventura comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ventura has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
