Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Hitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Vivah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Hitman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Santiago Vivah! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vivah shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Vivah content to control rather than advance. Vivah is looking for a kimura here.
Vivah trying to mount his opponent but Hitman defends it. Vivah trying to control from half guard but Hitman is working away. Vivah is thwarting Hitman's attempts to control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Vivah clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hitman manages to pull guard.
Vivah pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hitman is keeping the position for now. Hitman wants to get back to his feet but Vivah is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hitman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Vivah stays in close to Hitman's body and controls the position. Vivah advances position into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vivah looks gassed! Hitman pushes Vivah away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Vivah gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Hitman is trying to get back to half guard. Vivah is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hitman has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hitman can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hitman is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vivah asserts his dominance and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vivah stands up. Hitman misses with a takedown and Vivah decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hitman's guard. Hitman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Vivah looking to pass the guard. Vivah preventing the sweep. Hitman trying to strike off his back.
Vivah gets to his feet. Hitman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Hitman fails with the takedown and Vivah decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hitman's guard. Hitman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hitman is looking for a triangle but Vivah pushes his legs off easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vivah gets to his feet - Hitman follows without any prompting. Vivah thows a body kick. Hitman tries to catch it but that hurt him. Vivah clinches. Vivah is working for takedown but Hitman is calmly controlling the position for now. Hitman decides to pull guard. Vivah passes Hitman's left leg - he's now in half guard. Hitman is looking for a sweep. Vivah is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Vivah stands up and beckons Hitman to join him on the feet. Santiago Vivah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hitman misses with a takedown attempt and Vivah counters with a shoot takedown. Hitman fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Hitman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vivah with a flurry of punches that miss. Vivah with a flurry of punches that miss. Hitman looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Vivah throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hitman works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Vivah closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hitman to the mat! Hitman manages to get full guard. Hitman wants to get back to his feet but Vivah is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Vivah stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hitman with a poor takedown and Vivah counters by clinching up. Vivah decides to pull guard. Vivah is trying to keep Hitman in close.
Vivah has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Vivah striking from the bottom here. Vivah is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hitman tries to get to full guard but Vivah has control of the leg. Hitman looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hitman is looking to get back to full guard here but Vivah has managed to pass to side control instead. Hitman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vivah looking to control but Hitman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hitman tries to lock up and control but Vivah gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hitman wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Vivah.

Santiago Vivah dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hitman moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Vivah keeps the fight on the outside. Hitman fails with a takedown attempt. Vivah looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Vivah looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Vivah wants to pass the guard but Hitman is defending well. Hitman is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Vivah pulls his head out easily. Hitman wants to control but Vivah is keeping busy and won't allow it. Vivah trying to control from half guard but Hitman is working away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vivah throwing shots but Hitman is blocking nicely. Vivah is keen to just control but Hitman is a slippery customer. Hitman is looking to improve his position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hitman shoots and misses and Vivah counters with a flying knee. Nice. Hitman scores with a takedown into Vivah's guard. Hitman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vivah swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hitman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vivah is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vivah has escaped and now he's on top! Hitman wants to sweep but no luck. Hitman wants to get back to his feet but Vivah is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hitman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vivah can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vivah avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Vivah stands up over Hitman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Vivah trying to control but Hitman is working from the bottom. Hitman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hitman wants to sweep here but Vivah controlling him for the moment. Vivah trying to control the position from guard on top but Hitman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vivah postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Vivah trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hitman misses with a takedown attempt so Vivah counters with a double leg into guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hitman's guard. Vivah is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Vivah looking to control but Hitman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Vivah looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Hitman is in all sorts of trouble here.

Santiago Vivah showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Vivah gets to his feet - Hitman follows without any prompting. Hitman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Vivah counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hitman won't be happy with that. Hitman wants to control but Vivah postures up. Hitman pushes Vivah away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Vivah gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Vivah is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hitman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hitman wants to get back to his feet but Vivah drags him back down. Vivah trying to control the action but Hitman is working from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vivah takes a little break here. Hitman wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vivah misses with the ground and pound. Vivah remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Hitman is trying to control Vivah's posture but Vivah avoids it. Hitman is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Vivah off and has taken his back! Hitman is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Vivah with him. Vivah is trying to defend but Hitman has an arm under the chin now! Vivah grimaces and is forced to tap out!
